Advantages: It looks unusual & moisturises the skin

Disadvantages: The scent is far too strong

One of my many valentines gifts from my oh so lovely boyfriend! He knows how to keep my happy so Valentines he bought me the entire V Day collection! Whether he was feeling guilty for being late for our flight to Dublin but anyway I got my Lush stuff on way or another!!

You Wash My Back was a limited edition for Valentines Day 2009 and I mean strictly limited edition as they don't sell them anymore - as soon as Valentines Day came and went these soaps were quickly removed from the shelves! The only way to get your mits on this is to find one on EBay if you can! You Wash My Back is intended for partners to get a bit more close and intimate (and yes I did try!), the soap is round with two pieces one is pink and one is green and looks quite a solid soap.

This soap isn't for the faint of nose! It has a very strong floral scent even when dry. This has put a lot of people of this bar and I can see why. Even my boyfriend couldn't cope with the smell; either that or he just felt too girly smelling of flowers! If you're not careful this pretty looking bar could trigger a headache very easily! The ylang ylang and jasmine are very predominant in this soap which gives it a very strong scent unfortunately this means the rose oil and bergamot oil is unfortunately overlooked.

What I was surprised with You Wash My Back is that despite is strong scent it doesn't dry out the skin. Needless to say my skin wasn't as moisturised as it could have been but as I have sensitive skin I did think it would be irritated but it didn't all that I had left on my skin was now more a subtle floral fragrance which delightfully stayed around all day. Another downside is that this bar can melt rather quickly so when you've finished put it in a soap tin or dish to keep it away from the water.

You Wash My Back takes only a very small amount to get a very thick lather so even though this bar is actually made for two people it might be best actually cutting it up into smaller chunks. The lather is incredibly soft and a very very pale pink or green colour (which ever side you use first!) and really stays on the skin until you wash it off, unlike some lathers which seems to disperse on your skin as soon as it's made contact!

What Lush say:-

Perfectly balanced soul mate soaps for shared showers
This yin-yang soap duo with jasmine and bergamot is perfect for washing in pairs. You Wash My Back's creamy lather and subtle scent invite the response "And I'll wash yours". Take one half and lather it all over your partner's back (and all the other bits that are difficult to reach). Then it's your turn.

Unfortunately Lush no longer sell this in stores as I said previously they seem to be popping up on EBay all the time. However this is a soap that I definitely wouldn't buy again purely because the fragrance is far too strong. I did enjoy it but once I got over that smell!

Summary: Not an ideal soap for the faint of nose however it does moisturise the skin

I was wondering about it - and now I think I will buy it if I ever come accross it on eBay. Sounds just my kind of thing.
