Advantages: Pink, sweet
Disadvantages: Thin consistency, not much lather
As with most celebrations, a gift from Lush usually gets unwrapped somewhere along the way. This year among the bottles and bath bombs was a Yummy Yummy Yummy shower wash. An almost sickly pink in colour, it smelt equally pink and sweet. It says it contains fresh strawberries, honey, almond oil and a drop of olibanum oil. You could definately identify the strawberry - it reminded me of one of those odourous bubble baths you had when you were a child, this one would probably have come in the shape of a strawberry with a face! The almond was much harder to discern under the main scent, and I would never had guessed honey had I not read the product description (on the Lush gift box tag.)
On it's first few uses, I was disappointed at how runny the product was, and how it didn't seem to produce much of a lather, instead creating more of a soapy film. I assumed the thick part must be stuck at the bottom of the bottle, however shaking the bottle before use didn't seem to help, and i reached the end of the bottle without any changes in the consistency of the liquid. I had a second bottle (a gift from another friend) and this one was completely seperated - pink goo at bottom, lighter pink liquid on top. Shaking it combined them, however the consistency was still very runny and it seperated out again quite quickly.
The smell seemed quite sweet, yet weak when it was used, and overall the only lasting impact of the shower was a faint musky smell. My partner refused to use it after a couple of times, mostly because he couldn't produce any kind of lather with it.
Ingredients:
Fresh Strawberries Infusion (Fragaria vesca), Sodium Alkyl Sulfate, Honey Water (Aqua), Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Perfume, Glyceryl Stearate, Cocamide MEA, Propylene Glycol, Glycol Cetearate, Fine Sea Salt, Lauryl Betaine, Olibanum Oil (Boswellia carterii), Bergamot Oil (Citrus Aurantium bergamia), Geranium Oil (Pelargonium graveolens), Passionflower Seed Oil (Passiflora edulis), Water (Aqua), Balsamic Vinegar, *Limonene, *Linalool, Benzyl Alcohol, Colour 14700, Methylparaben, Propylparaben
* Occurs naturally in Essential Oils
To buy a 100g bottle is £2.91. I personally found this was a bit of a let down for a Lush product. They have a great selection of shower products, and I can see the appeal to women of a pink shower cream, however this is definately not one I would rush out to buy or even use again.
Summary: Not so Lush

- 02/09/09 This is one of my favourite smells from lush but I agree with what you said about the tunnyness and the separating. I keep my bottle in the fridge as the heat seems to make it worse. |
