Advantages: A nice shower gel.

Disadvantages: Doesn't do what it says it will.

My husband bless him, is not the easiest person to buy presents for. Every year that I have been with him my sister has struggled to think of things for him for his Christmas box, even getting to the stage where he now doesn't need to open the present from her, he already knows what he's got!

This year was slightly different though, instead of the Lynx shower gel/body spray set that he normally gets, he was upgraded to a triple shower gel set, with a super quick drying towel and back massager , we tried to work out what he had different so next year he might get another upgrade! LOL.

The shower gel I will now review is - ""Lynx boost, guava and volcanic stone extract"

I hadn't noticed until now that these shower gels have had a bit of modernisation, the bottle in particular being a funky new shape, with there being an ergonomically sound design down one side, perfectly designed for the best grip in the shower.

The bottle is clear plastic, with a black plastic flip lid, this is recyclable, this depends of course on the facilities available to you.
There is some basic information on the front, this being the brand name, product name the "flavour" and a rather manly looking picture of a glowing red ball with shards of light flashing from it.

The gel itself is bright red in colour and is visible through the bottle.

If this was a gel aimed at women I would advise you to squeeze a small amount onto a puff and this would encourage a better lather, but like so many other men out there, this is a girly idea, so please feel free to squeeze straight into your hand!

The gel is nice and think and lathers up well, can't you tell I have been stealing it!

It has a very strong smell, this being a spicy earthy smell, very much a male scent. This lingers for a little will on the skin, but tends to disappear or at least become overpowered by body sprays.

As my husband suffers with eczema, I was a little nervous that this would be too strong for his skin, making it flare up and itch to the point of distraction, this was not, thankfully, the case, this product states that this is a dermatologically tested product.

This gel is nice enough without any undue side effects but doesn't really do what it states it will do. This product claims that the guava and volcanic stone extract excites the body and arouses the senses, lets be honest, first thing in the morning a cold shower has the same effect!

These are available for purchase from most decent supermarkets, for around £1.78.

Lynx shower gel is massively over-rated - there are much better ones out there. Lynx seems to rely heavily on its marketing and image.
