Advantages: A decent roll-on
Disadvantages: Not much else!
Having recently been to Reading Festival, many of you would be intrigued to know they had a blanket ban on aerosols above 100ml this year, meaning most of us smelly twenty-somethings had to buy a roll-on or pocket-sized spray to prevent the pungent smell of festivals setting in. So, rather than get the ridiculously priced Lynx "Bullet", I went for one of their roll-ons - the Africa brand anti-perspirant to be exact...
The roll-on stands approximately four inches tall, with a silver screw cap which it rests on. The Africa range has green and red 'trim' to it on the front sticker, but other than that it's exclusively black and silver. After unscrewing the cap, it's nothing unusual - the clear roller ball has yet to be touched but by simply pushing it slightly it will start to roll and gather the anti-perspirant from inside the casing.
Now, some of you will be familiar with the Africa smell in spray form - something I'm not overly keen on and much prefer brands such as Click when I'm using my normal Lynx product. But the smell on this version of the roll-on is far more appealing...as with any kind of product like this which doesn't actually tell you what it's meant to smell like, it's open to discussion but it's particularly sweet and musky. Some people say after a while it begins it smell almost acidic-like, and due to the sharp smell I can understand why. I guess the reason behind Lynx's success is that their smells are open to interpretation so much and therefore so many people like them.
One setback, as I'd expect being a man, is the sensation of using a roll-on, which will inevitably be a bit sticky, on a hairy armpit! Although not uncomfortable, I'm certainly not expecting to stay with the roll-on range. However, because it is the anti-perspirant version it's a 'dry' liquid and therefore the stickiness doesn't last which is a bonus; I imagine the deodorant form on the roll-on leaves a longer-lasting sticky feel which can only be a bad thing.
You'll be able to pick one of these up in the usual places for around the £2 mark...whereas the Bullet range will cost slightly more for slightly less of the perfume. Not hard to do the maths there then and know which one to chose.
Summary: Another consistent Lynx product
