Marks and Spencer make a really lovely range of their own hand and body lotions. I used to only use the Magnolia scented one but a friend gave me for Christmas the Floral Collection Rose Moisturising hand and body lotion fragrance. I have to say, I love this smell as much as I love the Magnolia one but unless I had received it as a gift, I don't think I would have considered this fragrance, as I had initially though it might have smelled a bit 'old ladyish' for me. This hand and body lotion comes in a pretty pump dispenser container and the bottle contains 250ml of lotion which is designed for hands or all over the body use. I mainly sue it for my hands but I have also used it on my body on a few occasions too. The plastic bottle is really pretty with illustrations of flowers all over. It's far too nice to have by the kitchen sink so I keep mine on my bedroom dressing table and I use this lotion just about every morning. The lotion is medium level consistency. Neither too thick or too thin. It is white in colour and the fragrance is very strong indeed when first applied. I also think that the Magnolia fragrance is very strong, perhaps slightly too strong to be applying all over my body so I do keep it for my hands (or the tops of my feet) and have only used it as an all over lotion on a few occasions. The lotions sinks into the skin rapidly and it never leaves any sticky greasy residue. It plumps out the kin and makes it look and feel fresh and lightly moisturised. The smell is very intense, of strong roses and it lasts for quite a while after application. This is a lovely item to give as a gift or just to treat yourself to. I pay £3 for the Magnolia one so I am assuming this fragrance is going to be in the same price rage as the bottle sizes are identical and the only difference is the smell. It's lovely, light and fresh and a real pleasure to use and I really recommend it.
I was bought this by a friend for Christmas and it is lovely. I don't normally go for floral smelling products but this one is very lovely and subtle. It comes in a lovely looking bottle with a pump top. I have this by my kitchen sink so that I use it on a daily basis and it looks nice in my kitchen. The bottle has a picture of a rose on and it brightens up the sink. You use the lotion by pressing down on the pump and then the lotion comes out of the hole in small amounts. I tend to push down on it with one hand and have my other hand ready to catch the lotion. Usually just one pump is enough for my two hands. It rubs into skin well, I use this just as a hand cream and don't apply it anywhere else. I find the one pump tends to go on both hands and within about 2 minutes it has absorbed. I spend those two minutes just waiting and before I know it, it has absorbed. Before it has soaked in my hands are little greasy so I don't do anything during this time but once it's all gone it's fine and my hands feel fine to touch things and they feel much softer. In the winter months my hands seem to be a little hard but this lotion has helped to keep the skin soft and I especially use it after washing up. The smell is of subtle roses and is floral but it doesn't stay on my hands for more than about twenty minutes and that is fine as I don't want to be eating things and for the smell to pass on to my food. I really like this and will be buying some more when it runs out as it's lovely
I have noticed recently that the skin on my hands has become very dry. I suppose it's partly due to the fact that I am 58, partly due to the 'lovely' weather that we are having and partly due to the fact that my job involves me counting cash for a couple of hours each day. I have been working my way through various hand creams and lotions and have been getting towards the end of my stock. I decided that it was about time that I treated myself. Whilst I was shopping in Marks and Spencer's the other day I noticed a display of their various ranges of fragrances. I was initially drawn to the display remembering my mom who used to love the Magnolia one and I used to buy her lots of different items from this range each Christmas. Whilst there I noticed that the hand and body lotion had been reduced from £3 to £2.40 so I began to try one of two of the testers to see if I liked any of the fragrances for myself. I found that the Rose one was gorgeous so I made the purchase. The lotion comes in a white plastic, pump action container with 250ml of lotion inside. The label is very pretty showing pink roses with the words 'Marks and Spencer Floral Collection Rose Rosa Centifolia Hand and Body Lotion'. The whole thing looks really classy and would look lovely on anyone's dressing table. To dispense the lotion you just need to turn the top of the pump to unlock it - it is set locked so that the lotion does not accidentally get spilled before you come to use it - you then just push down on the pump with one hand whilst catching the lotion in the palm of your free hand. The lotion itself is white and has a creamy consistency. The fragrance is quite strong and smells like a bouquet of the very nicest roses. I rubbed it into my hands and immediately they felt smoother, more moisturised and generally more comfortable. The lotion was absorbed very quickly and my hands didn't feel greasy after use. I didn't need to use very much either - a little does go a long way. I did try it as a body lotion but, although it worked very well, I found that the fragrance was a bit too strong for me to wear it all over. Using it as a hand lotion, however, is fantastic! The strength of the smell is ideal on my hands and I often find myself sniffing the skin on my hands as the rose fragrance is so nice. My hands feel so soft and comfortable and I have noticed a marked improvement in the condition of my skin. I have thought about whether I would try any other items from the range and I think that I would like to try the shower gel as the fragrance would be lovely and not too strong. Once the lotion is finished the container, being entirely made from plastic, can be recycled with the ordinary household recycling. In conclusion this hand and body lotion is a good price even when it is not on special offer. It is easy to use, it works well and it smells lovely. Add all that to a recycleable container and you have a real winner! I will certainly buy it again!
I spotted this hand and body lotion on my mums sideboard when I was visiting her around 3 weeks ago. I didn't know she owned it and I do like this collection from Marks and Spencer's. I had been out for the day and popped in to see my mum for a hour. It was a very cold day and my skin on my arms were feeling really dry. I often do use my mum's products when I visit her because she often buys the same products as I do and we have the same taste etc. When I used the lotion she gave it to me because she didn't like it very much and I was very happy to take it home with me. There was also half of the lotion left in the bottle and so it would have been a waste if she threw it away. She often gives products to my daughter but I got in first with this one lol. The lotion comes inside a sturdy plastic bottle which has a pump dispenser. The pump is really easy to press to release the lotion. The design of the bottle is white with pictures of pink Roses. Very pretty and fresh looking. The lotion is white in colour, it has a really nice rose petal fragrance and one which is quite a strong fragrance. It is like smelling a bunch of roses in my opinion and very floral. I love the smell of this lotion. The lotion isn't a runny consistency but it is fairly thin, it has a smooth texture to it and feels really soft. You don't need a lot of the lotion to moisturise the body and hands. I first used it on my arms because they were feeling extremely dry at the time. I just pumped it once onto my skin and gently massaged it into my skin. It glides across the skin really well and using too much isn't necessary, a little does go a very long way with this lotion. It absorbs really well and in just less than a minute or so. It doesn't feel tacky or sticky on the skin once it has fully absorbed. It just soaks in very well and so you can get dressed soon after applying it to the skin. Which is good if you are in a hurry and want to use this just before you get dressed etc. It moisturises the skin perfectly, it nourishes my skin very well and my skin feels extremely soft and smooth. The fragrance has staying power on the skin for a good while after it has been applied. When I got home after visiting my mum and had a shower, I used this lotion all over my body. I used it on my arms, knees, legs and chest area. I just used a couple of pumps for each area and gently massaged it into my skin. The next morning I could feel my skin felt fairly soft, even after all of the hours during the night I had been sleeping etc. I then used it on my hands and found it to be a really nice hand lotion and one which I didn't have to keep on topping it up after washing my hands. I placed the bottle in my bathroom to use after washing my hands, the bottle looks really pretty looking in my bathroom too. I am in my 50's and so my skin is becoming much drier than when I was younger, I find this lotion works really well for softening my skin very well and nourishing it. My mum is 75 years old and her skin is far drier than my own skin and she told me it wasn't suitable for her much older skin and it didn't nourish it so well and that is the only reason she gave it to me. The amount of lotion in the bottle is 250ml, a lot of lotion. My mum told me she paid £3 for it at the time she bought it some time ago. I think for this price it is a really good value price and excellent quality. Cannot go wrong for the amount of lotion in the bottle for just £3 in my opinion. I do recommend this hand and body lotion to anyone looking to buying a cheap one and one which does leave the skin feeling nourished. I have sensitive skin and it is more than suitable for my skin combination, I haven't experienced any rashes or skin irritations since using this one. I do think it is suitable for all age groups but maybe aimed at the older generation because my daughter has tried it when she has washed her hands at my home and she told me it isn't one she would actually go out and buy herself. She said this collection range is a little old fashioned for her age group being 31 years of age but I disagree with her lol. A nice body and hand lotion which I would most certainly buy myself in the future and I am very happy to recommend it to anyone looking to buying a lotion which nourishes and softens the skin really well. Also on Ciao under my username pinky50. I give this one 5 stars. Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been of some help.
===Why I Got This=== I was given this as part of a gift pack at Christmas. I have never had any of Marks and Spencer's body products before and actually Rose would not have been my first choice - but a gift is a gift! ===The Product=== 'With the fragrance of timeless English rose, this hand and body lotion conditions and nourishes skin leaving it beautifully scented, soft and smooth.' Floral Collection - Rose. Moisturising Hand and Body Lotion. 50 mls. White plastic tube with opaque screw top. Pale pink label with pink roses and gold lettering and borders. Best before date of December 2014. Use within 24 months. Avoid your eyes and not recommended for the face. Made in Thailand. BUAV approved (a guarantee of a cruelty free option where neither the product nor its ingredients have been tested on animals). ===Marks & Spencer Floral Collection=== As well as Rose the Floral Collection includes: * Magnolia * Lavender * Lily of the Valley * Iris. ===Cost=== The larger size of 250 mls is on sale for £3 and my smaller one with a hand wash is £4 - but they are currently on sale as buy one get one half price. ===My Opinion=== Marks and Spencer's website state that this will 'condition and nourish your skin leaving it beautifully scented, soft and smooth'. I must admit this would not have been my first choice of fragrance as I am not really someone who likes rose aromas. However I was given this at Christmas and I do like Marks and Spencer's items. However I did not immediately open it and am sorry to say I stuck it in a drawer until I found it again a few weeks ago and decided to give it a try. The packaging of the tube is very nice and does not feel cheap at all. The size I have is really good as it is small enough to pop into your handbag without weighing you down. The cream is white and a thickish consistency. It does smell of rose when first opened and applied - but funnily enough I quite like it! It does not smell cheap and artificial which is what I normally associate with any 'rose' item. The cream itself goes on easily - I mostly only use it on my hands. It is nourishing without being greasy and soaks in quickly. When first applied it does have the vague rose scent but your hands are not stinking of it and the smell soon goes anyway. I have never bought any body products form Marks and Spencer before but will definitely be looking into their ranges now. Looking on their website I can see that they also do a Lily of the Valley range which sounds delightful and one I will be adding to my order when I next make a purchase online. For Marks and Spencer the prices are very reasonable and they would make an inexpensive gift or even a good purchase for yourself. ===Star Rating=== 4 stars - a good quality product but the fragrance could last a bit longer. ===Would I Recommend?=== Yes. ===Website=== www.marksandspencer.com
Ages ago I had a Marks and Spencers lip balm and really didn't like it. It didn't really moisturise my lips, and it left a horrible taste in the back of my mouth. Since I was bought a tin of rose lip balm from Marks and Spencers. I didn't hold out much hope after my last experience, but I gave it a go when I was desperate (I get dry lips all the time, and get through so many tubs of vaseline). I was so impressed. I love the Rose scent, it is so addictive. Not just that, but it actually does a really good job. If I put it on before I got to bed, I can still feel it coating my lips in the morning. When I received a Marks and Spencers voucher for Christmas and was browsing round in the sales, I saw this Rose hand cream reduced to £1. I thought it was part of a set, which was broken up which was why it was reduced. I already knew I loved the scent so I snapped it up. In the winter, my hands get so cold and dry and constant hand washing to try and minimise germs doesn't help the matter either. I keep this by my sink so that every time I was them I can use it. Sometimes using hand lotion is very impractical, it leaves your hands a bit slippery and sometimes you just need to get on with what you are doing. Luckily this cream is quite watery, rather than thick and oily, so it does absorb into your skin nice and easily. Which makes it quicker to do things afterwards. The moisturiser does everything I would want and more. It has a gorgeous scent, very mature and natural, and not so manufactured. It keeps my hands nice and soft and is easy to apply. It is lovely to have out for guests to use aswell. I would definitely recommend this-you'll be sniffing your hands after using it!
I'm a great lover of beautiful fragrances and often find I am able to totally relax when pampering myself with gorgeous products. If you have read some of my previous reviews on toiletries you will be aware that I don't generally tend to favour floral scents, but a product that I absolutely adore is Marks and Spencer The Floral Collection Rose Moisturising Hand and Body Lotion. Whilst my product is an older version and was contained within a Christmas gift set, it differs in appearance from the photograph that I provided to Dooyoo, but its' contents are identical. This lotion was purchased for me as a present a few years ago where I also received a bottle of matching bath foam. I'm generally quite speedy in using my toiletries, but to be honest, I didn't really fancy this one so I had pushed the gift set to the back of my wardrobe and only discovered it a few months ago. As my bottle differs from the picture shown I'm not going to spend time detailing the packaging. However, an evident change that has been made by Marks and Spencer is the fact that whilst my bottle has a screw top lid, which is a real negative as far as this lotion is concerned, it has now been replaced with a pump action dispenser, which in my opinion is the only way to effectively dispense a lotion product. Whilst my bottle is quite pretty with its' images of several red roses and stems, it perhaps is a little old fashioned. Marks and Spencer have now manufactured the bottle to appear somewhat luxurious, still with its' rose image, but they have also introduced an eye-catching gold banner around the width. My bottle contains 150ml of this gorgeous lotion, which states on the front is for the body. However, I note that Marks and Spencer are now marketing this product as both a hand and body lotion. The lotion is a gorgeous light pink in colour and is of a fairly thick consistency and I would describe this as a cream as opposed to a lotion. Normally I find rose fragrances a little overpowering and old fashioned, but the subtle delicate aroma makes this product quite superior and perfectly suited to women of all ages. As I favour more intensive products, such as creams for use on my hands, I have only used this lotion on my legs and arms and it is easily absorbed leaving no greasiness or stickiness on the skin. The product contains shea butter to enable the skin to be effectively nourished and moisturised and it most certainly does its' job well, as my skin is silky smooth. However, I would point out that I frequently alternate between products whereby I may use this for one or two weeks then change to a different brand. In my opinion, this lotion would probably be perfect for those women who do not suffer with dry skin on their hands. Unfortunately, this is not a possibility for me, particularly as I frequently experience dry and crackled skin on my knuckles. This hand and body lotion is part of a large Rose toiletry range where you will also find products such as bath foam, drawer liners, pomanders, talcs, hand washes, deodorants and shower creams. I feel considerably luxurious when using both my bath foam and this lotion, as they are of an extremely high quality. If you are interested in purchasing this product, I would advise that it is available in the larger Marks and Spencer stores for £3.00 where you will receive 250ml of beautifully fragranced hand and body lotion. It is recommended that this product is not used on the face and should be used within 24 months of opening. Once empty, your bottle can be recycled. As this is such a luxurious and beautifully fragranced product, it receives 5 out of 5 dooyoo stars from me. I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
