Advantages: freshens breath, minty, cleans teeth
Disadvantages: none
I don't necessary always buy the same brand of toothpaste, it can be difficult getting toothpaste that suits us all in the family household. My children always seem to complain about the minty toothpaste being too nippy in their mouths, so they always used a fruity brand toothpaste that is especially designed for children. When out shopping one day I decided to buy the macleans cool mint flavour, It comes in a emerald green box with white lettering of the macleans brand name, you can also get a freshmint flavour which comes in a blue box which I have also tried, both these toothpaste cost 59p for 50ml tube. I really feel that every time I brush my teeth with this toothpaste it leaves my mouth feeling cool, fresh and clean, it taste a bit like wrigleys spearmint chewing gum so it's not too strong and even the kids seem to like it where as they find the freshmint flavour one a bit too nippy on their tongues. Macleans toothpaste has an antibacterial action which kills bacteria where your brush does not reach, by brushing twice daily with macleans it will help fight the plaque, prevent tooth decay and keep gums healthy, the flouride and calcium which are probably the two most important ingredients will help to strengthen the teeth. It is also approved by the BDA. I must mention, children under 7 years should only use a pea size amount and should be supervised when using toothpaste containing flouride to minimise swallowing, too much flouride could lead to fluorosis (permanent teeth discolouration), so it is best to consult the dentist if your child uses fluoride supplements.
