Advantages: fresh clean mouth, healthy teeth, whiter teeth

Disadvantages: can feel like its burning the mouth

Ok so I am not talking dazzling teeth here, but there certainly is a noticeable difference since I started using Macleans whitening toothpaste, about 6 months ago. This could also be due to the fact I have recently started using an electric toothbrush.

The toothpaste comes in a metallic looking tube and tastes very strong and minty. The active ingredients are sodium fluoride and triclene (the ingredient to whiten your teeth). It is not recommended for use on children under the age of 7.

The toothpaste claims to help restore natural whiteness, contain fluoride, help to strengthen teeth, help to fight decay, fights against tartar and freshen breath.

Since I am a tea/coffee in large quantities drinker, and also a smoker, my teeth were far from 'white'. After seeing all the different adverts for whitening toothpaste’s I thought I would see for myself what all the fuss was about.

The toothpaste does make your breath fresher, for a good length of time too. And you mouth certainly feels cleaner after use. Although I have noticed that the inside of my
mouth tends to 'peel' a little after use, this may sound painful, but there is no discomfort at all.

As for fighting plague/decay and tartar, I am most happy with its performance. I went for my six monthly check up at the dentist, he usually recommends a scale and polish - not this time, there was no need at all.

Although he did say this was more due to the action of the toothbrush I was using than the toothpaste.

I have found my teeth are a lot whiter than before, I can't expect dazzling teeth as I am a smoker and drink large amounts of tea and coffee. I will continue to use macleans whitening however as I feel it is good for my teeth.

Macleans whitening can be found in most chemists or supermarkets with a varying price. A 50ml tube costs £1.99 in Boots but only 99p in Superdrug. So shop around and save pennies as well as you
r teeth!

Yes I agree Macleans certainly makes a difference to the colour of you teeth. I've only been using it for a few months and the difference is already notable. Good Opinion!!!

I don't usually buy any specific toothpaste. Your opinion has made me think though!
