Advantages: works, refreshes, not too pricey
Disadvantages: can be used quickly in this heat
In Edinburgh, where I live recently the temperatures have been really high. It all started last week when I was at the beach, the heat was immense. I was boiling hot and with temperatures of 30 degrees it only means burning and feeling so hot, that muggy feeling is horrible. I know you can buy these mini fans but I feel they just blow hot air at you and drinking water is cool but it doesn't cool you right down and still leaves you dying of heat.
I have always in the summer time seen the adverts for Magicool spray. As cheesy an advert as it is, the product sounded good but I once heard that it cost £10 and cooling me down in the summer was not worth that price. This year though, the same advert started up again around the start of summer. I kept saying I want to buy that and so I did some research and found my own can. In the advert it says it instantly cools down the space around you and in cars which sounded so ideal.
There are 2 types of Magicool spray you can buy. The first is the one I have the 'Hot Weather Cooler & Freshener'. The second is 'Body Cooler & Freshener'. The one I have is the better one and most recommended. The second one from what I've read seems to be for preventing you to scratch bites and cooling down the body.
The one I bought says it's the world's first instant body and face cooling spray. It works without refrigeration. It promises to cool you on hot days, muggy nights, sun baked cars, leisure, sports and helps irritant skin. The funny thing I read on the can is that in a car you spray body and face as needed and hot surface around you by spraying for approximately 30 seconds. Spraying this long would use atleast half the can so it's better to stick to cooling yourself instead of the area around you.
The directions of use are that you hold it about 25cm away from you close eyes and spray on the face. Spray on the body is about the same. I have used this in hot weather and my opinion is that it's fantastic it cools you down for about 10 minutes. When hitting the skin it feels like a cooling body spray and it just feels cooler. The good thing is as well, Magicool is not strong smelling, it smells antiseptic.
This can be used on sunburn although I have never tried it on this. It suggests you spray 4 times a day whenever the skin flares up and it should calm it down a bit which does sound nice.
In the can I bought you get 200ml of the product which is good. It should be stored in a cool place. The packaging is easy to spot it is in a light blue can and like any aerosol it has a push down top and this lets out the spray. The front vertically down it says magicool. The blue lid is see-through also.
The product is CFC free which is great because it won't damage the ozone layer whcih is something that puts a lot of people off aerosols. The product is safe to use on adults and children for instant coolness. Another good thing about Magicool is that it is unique, one of a kind because they are patented which means that they are the only one with rights to the product and if they choose to, can share it.
Magicool is a product I would recommend to those living in unbearable heat. It instantly cools and keeps you refreshed instead of sweaty. Also, it will definitely get me by the rest of the summer without complaining about the heat. One spray and I'm instantly cooler.
Magicool can be bought in Boots, this is the only place I have ever seen it. It is usually kept in the racks beside the til. Both products of Magicool are sold here. The one I bought for 'Hot Weather Cooler & Freshener' is £4.79. The 'Body Cooler & Freshener' was something like £4.29. You earn points as well as getting something worthwhile. It can be bought at boots.com as well but it is currently out of stock as it's triple points on the website and also they were doing 3 for 2 on it so some people must have gotten carried away.
