Advantages: Cools instantly, many uses, calms irritated skin
Disadvantages: Expensive
When I first bought this after seeing an advert for it I didn't know what to expect as I didn't see how something in a can could cool you down. I thought maybe it would be a cool fragrance that would sort of make you feel cooler without actually cooling anything. After the first time I tried it though I realised this product is really a must have for hot summers.
Magicool is sold in aerosol cans, the largest holding 200ml which is quite big but there are two smaller sizes available which would be better for travelling with. The largest can is light blue in colour, with a blue see-through plastic lid on top. This can sort of looks like a small air freshner. The Magicool logo is along the side at the front of the can with information about how it works next to this logo such as "instant body & face cooler for adults and children". Below this info it also states that it is "new, patented and the world's first". The back of the can gives you some useful diagrams about its various uses such as sports, sun baked cars and even for irritated skin such as for sunburn. The other two cans are similar in appearance but they are mostly white with sort of rounded tops. Magicool Plus is also available, which I haven't tried myself but it is for use on skin irritation caused by prickly heat.
The can itself feels cold to the touch and it stays that way without having to store it in a cold place. As soon as you spray it onto the skin you get what feels like a blast of cold wind that dries into the skin quickly and doesn't leave the skin feeling greasy or sticky. It can be used all over the body including the face which I was worried about because of my sensitive skin but I have never had problems with this after using it several times. It's uses don't stop there however, as this can be used to cool down sun baked cars. Although I don't drive, I know how horrible it is to be in a hot car but Magicool helps. It gives directions on the can for hot cars where it says you should spray the hot air and surfaces around you, and states that it cools everything around you in the car as well as you. I use for it that I have only just discovered is for irritated skin. It's horrible having irritated and itchy skin as you just want to scratch all the time which makes it worse, but having something cold on it helps it almost instantly. Although it hasn't been a great summer this year, Magicool's various uses mean it doesn't have to be boiling hot to use it.
Magicool is available at chemists and shops such as Tesco. The price is a bit of a drawback however as it sells at around £4 or more although it does last for a while. I'd recommend this, especially if you own a car since they do get warm easily even if it's not too hot outside.
Summary: with all it's uses, its worth trying even if it's not hot

- 30/08/07 Miss Gretta - that sounds like a better idea! I suppose magicool is best for the sunbaked cars, but I have used pump spray things on my skin before and they work well
Thanks! |
