Advantages: Easy to use, smells great and does a mighty fine job!
Disadvantages: You do have to reapply it if you go in water
Occasionally in the UK we do get some nice sunny weather! Granted not very often as I look outside as I write this review (we have thunder and lighting at the moment!). Now although I don't tan much for some reason I still need to use sun protection from time to time. Not least because I don't want to burn and feel pain but because I don't want the aging effects if I don't have to have them! So a firm favourite in my household is this Malibu Dry Oil Spray and we have several bottles of the stuff scattered about for everyone's usage of! (Good old Mum lol).
The Packaging:
Long clear bottle with an orange push down orange button to the top of it and ingrained indentations into each side of the bottle for ease of use. On the front of label I'm told it's Malibu Dry Oil Spray (and then stuff in foreign languages) and our particular bottle is 15 'Medium Protection' for use on the body and the scalp and I'm told it is waterproof. On the back of the bottle I'm told a bit about the product and how to use it, a warning is given, ingredients and allergy advice is given, size is stated (in this case it's a 200ml bottle) and finally contact details for Malibu are listed. Nice easy to use and understand bottle and I do like the easy grip design to the bottle considering this is an oil after-all!
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Bottle:
This SPF 15 Dry Oil Spray offers easy, quick drying spray-on application. Non greasy, it can also be sprayed directly through the hair onto the scalp.
Directions:
Spray on dry oil and ensure that all exposed skin is evenly and generously covered - use about 3 tablespoons (35ml). Do not spray directly onto face. Apply 30 minutes before and frequently during exposure to the sun. Always reapply after swimming and if dry oil is rubbed off by towel, hat or clothing. Seek shade between 11am and 3pm.
Me Using It:
This is absolutely fabulous and me, when I first saw it was an oil I was worried about using it to be honest fearing it would be greasy but seriously..this isn't at all and even typing that I'm surprised lol!
It sprays out easily and all you do is simply direct it where you want it, gently sweep it into the skin (no rubbing required for this) and that is it. It simply sinks in almost as soon as you've sprayed it cos it 's like a fine mist of water so you don't need to hang about waiting for this to dry. You can't see it, you can't feel it but it does leave you smelling of natural coconuts for it's duration and skin actually does feel lightly hydrated and slightly smoother than usual.
Basically you use this and forget it's there though you do need to remember to occasionally reapply it as advised if your swimming and stuff like that. However like I say I'm in UK and I find that with not being anywhere near any water I can use this in the morning, stay outside sunbathing pretty much most of the day and not need any further applications at all. Course if you want to 'top up' using this you can well do that is down to your judgement and it's suitable to use on the children too which I think is a great idea as it's so simple, quick and easy to apply.
Does It Work? :
Absolutely, me and my family swear by using this. Never have any of us burnt and me I find this really easy to use. I have some nice clothes and the thought of getting horrible, tacky and greasy oil on them fills me with dread but I can use this and not have to worry my head about that at all. Talking of heads I have applied this to my scalp (finely) and it hasn't made my hair feel sticky or greasy and has just given it a dazzling shine lol.
My skin when using this feels great and I feel it rinses off my skin (and hair) with ease as well. Never have I felt burnt or has my skin felt tight and the smell and ease of use really do make this an amazing product! I highly regard it, it's great quality and a great price and what's more it's a long laster on the skin and you don't need much per application to your skin with this! A great buy!
We pay about £5.49 a bottle in Boots for ours but it is widely available in all good chemists and some supermarkets too!
Allergy Advice:
Contains oxybenzone.
Summary: Brilliance and a big thumbs up from moi!
