Boots Mediterranean Almond Pistachio & Milk Body Butter

I love to pamper myself with body creams and lotions and regularly buy new products that I haven’t tried before. I do suffer occasionally from dry skin on my elbows and knees and legs…therefore I have to be careful what products I use and at the very first sign of discomfort I have to stop using a product.

This body butter from the Boots Mediterranean range is wonderful for me. I received it one week before Christmas as part of a gift set from my colleagues at the nursery I work in. So my tub of butter is only a 50ml size, but this is available from Boots for £6 for a 200ml full size tub! This is a great bargain in my eyes as a little truly goes a long way. I’ve been using my butter for 2 weeks now and have been using it about once every two days and still have loads left in the small tub.

The tub is a clear hard plastic which you can easily see the peachy cream substance inside, which a durable black plastic screw off lid which is easily taken off even with slippery fingers.

The Claim…. With nourishing and soothing ORGANIC almond oil, moisturising and conditioning pistachio oil and skin softening milk extract. ….This is surely a recipe for baby soft skin? ……….. Yes! I have noticed my tired skin looking slightly more radiant since using this incredibly enticing body butter. I feel it is a lot softer too.

So onto the actual body butter…it is a very thick cream that won’t fall out of the tub if held upside down or even if shook gently! So you get to use as little or as much as you need, you can really smell the almond and the pistachio is the secondary whiff you get when you inhale deeper. I’ve always liked almond oil and have found it always makes my skin a lot softer so to include it in a cream is perfect for me.
For anyone with skin allergies this states that it is dermatologically tested. It contains glycerin which I know can irritate some skins so be careful. As this is a nutty product I was a bit worried as my son is allergic to nuts (including almonds and pistachios)…and so I have been very careful when around him just in case…although when he has had a hug or kiss from me when I am wearing it he hasn’t shown any signs of reacting so I think it is ok.

The instructions are simple, bathe or shower as normal and then simply massage over body when towel dried. I usually use about a fingertip amount for each arm, about the size of a pea….and slightly more for each leg…and another small dollop for my body. No, there won’t be pictures demonstrating LOL!

On the plus side for this, the smell lingers for hours after application….leaving you with sweet smelling skin, it’s a subtle smell though and doesn’t interfere with perfumes which at first I was worried about but this was unfounded. It sinks into the skin really quickly after applying and doesn’t leave you feeling greasy or sticky. Your hands may have a slightly greasy feel but by quickly rubbing them on a piece of paper towel this leaves.

Boots have various different “flavours” of this body butter which I have yet to try including
Bergamot Orange & Olive
Grape Avocado & Lemon
Olive Wheatgerm & Honey
All of which are on a 3 for 2 special offer at the moment on Boots website (and probably in store too I haven’t checked yet)

I would recommend this product to anyone who likes Almond oil and who likes their body butters!
