I'm actually reviewing the women's variety of Mitchum here but this is almost identical to the men's one: the packaging says 'for women' in the tiniest possible writing & it doesn't smell particularly girly so I reckon I'm OK.

This one is 'powder' scented & it does indeed smell like some generic talcum powder - a nice smell & not overpowering. It's gentle on the skin, too, & doesn't sting like some do.

I've used 'maximum protection' & '24 hour'-type deodorants in the past & not one of them has worked for more than about four hours. I was resigned to being a stinker but Mitchum saved the day: it's effective for a good long day's work - & I walk there with a rucksack on & do lots of sweaty physical stuff, so I'm quite a challenge.

I use the stick rather than roll-on or aerosol, & I find it works best if I put it on when my pits are still wet from washing. The packaging info says it goes on clear with no residue; this is true where my skin's concerned but I have noticed it leaves a white stain behind on clothes with regular use.
Some of my work clothes are developing an impressive crusty build-up under each arm, & it makes me think twice about using it with really special clothes.

The benefits of being sweet-smelling hugely outweigh the faults, though, & the only reason I'd switch deodorants is if Mitchum brought one out that was better on clothes.

Summary: the most effective deodorant I've come across
