Advantages: It works.
Disadvantages: Irritates my skin.
Introduction
==========
In my quest to find deodorant now that I can’t get hold of my usual one any more, I bought “Mitchum cool dry hydro solid”. This review is therefore of the solid version of Mitchum deodorant. I prefer un-perfumed deodorants but as there were none in the shop and I knew that this worked reasonable well, I decided it was better than nothing.
The packaging
===========
The “hydro solid” deodorant comes in clear packaging with green labels on it. It is kind of like a large oval pritt stick which you rub on your arm pits (except it’s deodorant and not glue). I believe roll ons are available as I have had these in the past.
On the front, the deodorant makes the following claims:
+ “proven 48 hr protection”
+ “no white marks”
+ “So Effective You Could Even Skip A Day”
The back label also tells me that it is non sting. There is an ingredients list and instructions on how to use the deodorant.
The Aroma
========
Although I prefer un-perfumed deodorants, I don’t really notice the smell of these. The “powderfresh” smells like baby powder and the “shower fresh” smells like a combination of aftershave and shower gel. Powder fresh is definitely the more subtle of the two I have tried.
Using the deodorant
===============
The deodorant goes on just like any other solid deodorant. The only annoying thing is that you have to wind it up and done each time you use it otherwise the lid gets messy.
So does it work then?
================
Yes.
I wouldn’t agree with the skip a day or 48 hrs claims as I have to use it every day and have occasionally needed to use it a second time in the same day. Having said this, it certainly does work reasonably effectively.
Any bad points?

Personally, I find that this deodorant slightly irritates my skin so I have slightly itchy armpits. I don’t know whether this would be a problem for most people as it may just be my sensitive skin. Although this is a problem, I choose to use it rather than a deodorant which does not work.
Any other good points?
=================
As this deodorant goes on dry, there is no hassle waiting for it to dry. In addition, it does not leave white marks on your clothes. This applies only to the solid version of the deodorant and is the reason why I chose the solid rather than the roll on.
Conclusion
========
Although I find this deodorant irritates me slightly, the advantages (it works, it is dry and it doesn’t leave white marks) outweigh this. Although I don’t agree with the claim that it lasts for two days, I would definitely recommend this as a deodorant worth trying.
Summary: It works. Solid version is dry and doesn't leave white marks.
