Advantages: Strong, lasts all day and smells nice
Disadvantages: A bit dearer than other brands and bland packaging
Let's be blunt here, Body odour (B.O) isn't nice, funny or sociably acceptable. It's right down there with Headlice and bad teeth. But B.O can be easily cured! Just buy an effective Anti perspirant and no longer will people have to suddenly go and "meet someone they haven't seen for a long time" within 5 seconds of meeting you!
Sound simple, right? Wrong! Like most problems in the new millenium, there are thousands of competitors' products who claim that their product can sort your problem ten times better than the other product. The Anti perspirant market is no different! "Sure", "Right Guard", Soft and Gentle" are but a few of the trusted brands in the Body hygene market. So, simple laws of economics would dictate that a market this saturated would need a product of such effective quality that it can compete. Step forward "Mitchum"....
This is a relatively new brand which came onto the market about 3-4 years ago. It's packaging is nothing groundbreaking. A green bottle with the brand name on the front. Nothing special there. But when I first saw this, there was one comment on the bottle which made me want to give this a go. The comment was "So effective you even skip a day". Now while I had absolutely no intention of trying that theory out I just had to try the product. What did I have to lose? On application, it produces a thick white layer which looks, somewhat, unappealing. It does take a fair while to dry out, but when it does, the strength of this product is finally revealed! All day (which in this case is defined as 24 hours) the smell of this product was strong. It showed no sign of wavering and perspiration was virtually non-existant (not an exaggeration!). This was during summertime, so, if "Mitchum" could handle summertime then it could handle any time of year! By the time I was ready for my next shower I smelt my body and the anti perspirant was still going strong! Since then, I have only ever used Mitchum. It is really is a great anti perspirant. The fragrances aren't overpowering or "medical", but just lightly scented.
The price of Mitchum is a negative point. It is slightly more expensive than most other brands on the market, but this is off-setted by the fact that one application is more than enough for 24 hours, so a bottle lasts much longer than other brands. If you do want a cheaper alternative I suggest "Sure" cream anti perspirant. It's still fairly strong to use, but is streets behind Mitchum.
One fear I had when trying this product is that there's no "Hypoallergenic" range. This worried me because my rationale was "A product this strong must have some irration to the skin?". Though, after, 3 years of using Mitchum I have experienced no ill effects to my skin. This a huge pluspoint if you have a brand which tickles or burns a bit when applied.
Overall, if you can get over the rather bland packaging and slightly dearer price, Mitchum is a cracking Anti perspirant. It's strong, lasts all day (literally) and it not overpowering in the fragrance department. I wholly recommend it.
Now, that's my B.O taken care of, now I've got take care of my bad teeth and my....ahem....<scratches head> hair problem.....! ;O)
Summary: Great product, just a little more expensive than other brands.
