Advantages: Very effective anti-perspirant
Disadvantages: A wee bit wet and sticky.
Let's get one thing straight before we go any further. I *DON'T* actually stink like a racoon's ass, as I shower daily. Sometimes I even shower twice daily if I'm tired of an evening, or if I've been out hitting the wee white ball on the golf course or any other type of energetic occupation. (Use your imagination!)
In fact, I couldn't even tell you what a racoon's ass smells like, as I'm not into molesting animals. (Heh, heh) But I can't imagine it being very pleasant somehow, can you?
But despite the fact that my personal hygiene habits are good, like anyone else I'm not exempt from sweating in the old armpits. Without a good deodorant it wouldn't be very long before the niff would become noticeable, as I don't care who you are, given the right conditions you'll sweat like a stick of old gelignite and stink to high heaven!
My deodorant of choice is usually Sure; the roll on variety as I can't stand aerosol deodorants. I've been using it for years, and find it very effective at both stopping and masking any niffy, iffy, body odours. But it's not always available in the local pharmacy or supermarket that we use, and so necessity sometimes dictates I purchase an alternative.
Mitchum is one that caught my eye about a year or so ago. It's about the same price as Sure (but Sure is often on special offer in the local £1 shop!) and equally effective, and so you'll often find Mitchum on the shelf in my bathroom cabinet. (In fact, it's the brand I'm currently using)
In roll on form it comes in a 100ml or 150ml container. I usually buy the larger 150ml version which costs me about Euro 4.29. (At least that's the price sticker on my current container)
Is there anything different about Mitchum in comparison to other roll on deodorants?
Well, they *DO* claim on the bottle that it will remain effective for up to 48 hours. Now that's a pretty extravagant claim (for a deodorant, that is) and quite frankly it's not a claim I've personally put to the test. But it *IS* very effective, and one application seems to last the whole day without any problems whatsoever.
Anything I *DON'T* like about Mitchum?
Well, yeah. I find it's very wet compared to some others, and especially in comparison to Sure. But that said, it isn't too long in drying off. But because it's so wet and runny it does tend to make a real mess of the bottle, as the liquid seeps down the sides and out the edges of the lid, making it sticky and icky to the touch.
I use the unscented version as I wouldn't want it clashing with my aftershave, vain bugg*r that I am! But it comes in various different perfumed varieties as well, and also in an aerosol.
Price wise, as always, it pays to shop around.
