Advantages: a nice smeling product
Disadvantages: bottle, price, application
Molton Brown is one of my favourite beauty brands and I have never yet been let down by one of its products until now.
*My initial thoughts*
I received this body spray as part of a gift set from my husband for Christmas 2007. I was very intrigued and decided to give it a try.
To begin with, I wasn't too impressed by its appearance. Although, for a body spray the bottle is quite unique, to me it looked like an upmarket air freshener spray bottle. I probably checked a few times that it was meant to be used on my body before I finally sprayed it and luckily for me, it was safe!
When pressing down the pump, the body spray does not come out like an aerosol but squirts liquid fragrance. I wasn't too impressed to be honest with the spray as it emits small splodges rather than than an ample and long spray.
*The fragrance itself*
The smell of the fragrance is a light and floral one. Compared to my initial disappointment with the bottle, I did actually quite like the fragrance & it was a bonus to not smell like an air freshener.
As mentioned on the bottle the fresh and floral scent in this product is due to the Himalayan Indigo plant.
The fragrance provides a long and well rounded fragrance which smells nice but it is not a fragrance that I would choose to wear to a special occasion, maybe just a daily body spray.
The fragrance does feel nice on the skin and it feels almost oily though not greasy with it. If sprayed on to clothes, it leaves no marks or stains and leaves a long lasting impression whether on clothes or skin.
*value for money*
As of January 2009, the price is £20.55 for a 200ml bottle. I find that this is a very high price for a body spray, regardless of its brand and this one certainly isn't worthy of this price tag.
On the plus side, to maintain a good lasting fragrance only a few smalls sprays are required, however, this would not be enough to encourage me to make a purchase myself.
Sorry Molton Brown, you let me down on this occasion.
Summary: A dissapointing product which is over priced
