Advantages: Nice smell, nice packaging
Disadvantages: Too expensive, doesn't last long, leaves white marks
Most people know Molton Brown for their range of "posh" toiletry products, most notable the VERY popular handwash "Naranji". They started off as a hair salon in Londons exclusive Mayfair district, and now have a range of spas and outlets worldwide.
They have always maintained their exclusivity by only selling within certain stores or by charging a premium for their products. Their body washes are used within the worlds leading hotels and I have always found them to leave my skin feeling fantastic and well moisturised so much so that there isn't necessarily always a need to use their brilliant range of body lotions.
I was given a can of the Wild Indigo Spray at a promotional event in London recently - I certainly wouldn't have paid the £22 that this costs. The press release and blurb for it states that it is:
"designed to elevate the mind and set it up for a positive day, the wild-indigo plant is plucked from the lush green slopes of the Indian Himalayas to help urban dwellers feel centred, in control and relaxed. "
Molton Brown do not seem to say if it is designed for men or women and to be honest the smell is fairly neutral. Many men my feel however that it is too "floral" and so not for them.
Contrary to the claims Molton Brown make, I found it did leave some white marks which was very annoying. The dispenser creates a wide cloud so tends to go everywhere rather than a relatively concentrated spray. The smell wore off much quicker than my Right Guard spray I normally use and so I wasn't too impressed. I did like the smell however but in the mornings or post-gym shower I'd rather be "invigorated" or "refreshed" than clamed and centred.
As a gift I think it might be ok but for the same money you could get something nice from Jo Malone or Cowshed etc.
Overall, bit too pricey for what it is and not worth the money in my honest opinion.
Summary: I might recommend it if it cost a third of what it does but not at this price.
