Advantages: easy to use, smells lovely, does the trick & will last ages

Disadvantages: price

It doesn't take much to make me happy so yesterday I was ecstatic, when sorting out my bathroom cupboards, to find a full box of goodies from Molton Brown. I'd completely forgotten about them as I'd 'hidden' them from myself to use only as treats - lucky me to have been given them all by my older daughter last Christmas!

I do love Molton Brown products but they're out of my price range at the moment so it was an extra treat to be able to pamper myself with some of their products & make me feel more prosperous than I am. Everything I've tried has always been well packaged, stylish & usually exceeded my expectations & this applies to the Rose Granati Soothing Hand Wash.

It retails at around £13.70 for 300ml but we have a Molton Brown outlet store a few miles away (Salford Quays, Manchester) which usually has great offers & with my daughter being a very clever shopper I'm sure she chose carefully.

The pump action bottle is as shown in the picture; it's made of plastic but looks like glass & with all MB products it looks attractive enough to have on show in the bathroom. The pump action is great - not fiddly to undo & it's easy enough to get out as little or as much as you need without the cream gunging up or dripping down the side of the bottle.

The lotion itself is a very pale pink, a good consistency & almost seeps into the hands by itself.

I would never have chosen a rose fragrance (always think of old ladies) but to be honest it only has a very subtle smell of rose & it's definitely not for the older generation!

Other ingredients include cardamon, ginger & pomegranate which sounds rather an odd mix but, along with rose, this makes a brilliant combination & I would say it would suit all ages. Unfortunately, although MB make many unisex products, this is too floral for the men so I'll have to use this all for myself.

I noticed a difference in the texture of my hands & nails after only a few applicaions. My nails & cuticles looked better & seemed easier to file whilst my hands felt soft & looked much better & more moisturised.

I love the pump action as I feel I'm not wasting any of the contents & I think the bottle will last quite some time as you only need a little & the shelf life is long. I also like the fact that it's not greasy or oily, has a subtle yet interesting smell & the quick effect it seems to have on hands & nails. I should really sort my cupboards out more often!

Summary: a recommended hand lotion from Molton Brown

Sounds a lot better than their Black Pepper body lotion which does nothing other than remind buyers how strong the Black Pepper scent is.
