Everybody needs a little luxury after a hard day and this is another lovely luxurious product from the high quality body care company, Molton Brown. Containing oil extracted from orchid petals it claims to be a body satiniser rather than just a moisturiser and for me it lives up to its claims.
Molton Brown initially started producing their body care products above their hair salon in South Molton Street in London's Mayfair in the 1970's and have gone from strength to strength since then providing courtesy gifts for many hotels and airlines as well as to us ordinary bods.
The peachy ,creamy liquid can clearly be seen in the simple clear plastic bottle which on the front bears the name "Molton Brown London "in toning brown lettering. "Sensual hanaleni, and, lait satinant a l'orcidee,,(sounds even better in French!),also appears in the same colour whilst "body satiniser" is picked out in a vibrant orange. On the reverse appears the Molton Brown logo in the same orange, flanked in brown by the ingredients and a description of the satiniser. The bottle is topped by a silver neck i with Molton Brown embossed on it.The actual pump dispenser is in black and can be closed by twisting it to make sure you dont get any spillage as is quite a thin liquid. The quantity ,200ml , also appears in brown at the base of the bottle at the front.
This is best applied after a bath or shower, one push of the pump, go easy it's quite squirty! and you get a goodly amount of fragrant creamy liquid which is rich and silky. Molton Brown advise you to apply to damp skin, massage from feet upwarsd working towards the heart using long sweeping movements to stimulate the circulation. So I do! and very enjoyable it is too! It is absorbed very easily into the skin and leaves a lovely warm, light ,scent on my skin which lasts for hours . I have found with Molton Brown products that a little goes a long way and this makes up for their high prices. My skin certainly feels like it has a had a treat and it makes you feel cared for and cosseted.
Here are some of the ingredients that help to achieve that feeling.
Hanaleni orchid petal oil, jasmine, ylang ylang, cedarwood and violet essential oils.
It is gorgeous, it really gives me a lift, it's only draw back is the price of 17.50p for 200ml, but for Valentine's day?.......? four stars from me only because of the price.
Available from Molton Brown and good retail stores.
Thankyou for reading my review ,it may appear on Ciao under my name splishsplash.
Molton Brown can be classed as an upmarket beauty store selling a wide variety of products from hand lotions, to candles, shampoos and products for men. I love browsing in their stores as they have some amazing smells and wonderfully different products. They also display and package their products amazingly well and I think this is part of their appeal. The products are not cheap however but I either like to buy their products as nice presents for others or for a nice room in my house such as the guest bathroom for decoration and for guests to use. I generally always see Molton Brown products in nice hotels and restaurants and like the look of the soap in their so have tried to recreate that in my own house.
Molton Brown first started out as a hair salon in 1973 in Mayfair with all their retail products hand-mixed in the upstairs from nettles and chamomile. I think this is probably what has led them to using some interesting smell and ingredients in their products. Examples of these include davana blossom, celestial maracuja and inspiring wild indigo
It is in the guest bathroom that I have the Sensual Hanaleni Body Satiniser. I have to say that really what first attracted me to this product was the name. I like the sensual connertation of this lotion and also the fact that it is described as a satiniser. This to me made me think that the product would really turn my hands into satin and make them very soft and nourished. In fact Molton Brown describe this product as, "A body moisturiser like no other, our sensual hanaleni body lotion is light in texture yet intensively rich in moisture."
The second thing that attracted me about this product was the smell. It is absolutely gorgeous. I find that some of the Molton Brown range is too spicy and heavy for me but this smell is very flowery even though it is still quite a heavy strong smell. The smell is described as a passionate feminine blend of orchid oil, ylang-ylang, jasmine and violet leaves. According to Molton Brown orchid oil is extracted from the petals of precious orchids and is used for it's fragrance and Ylang Ylang,Orchid,Jasmine,Violet&Cedar Wood are all essential oils to relax the senses and lift the spirits.
A 200ml bottle of the hand lotion is £16.00 in the Molton Brown stores. The bottle that the hand lotion comes in is very handy. It has a pump action top which allows you to get to the lotion easily. The lotion itself is a very very light pink colour.
I really like the way this product makes my skin smell and I am also pleased with the way it makes me hands feel after use. I find it easy to apply. It goes on well and soaks into the skin very easily and I do find after using it that my skin is nice and smooth.
All in all a good product from Molton Brown that I definitely recommend.
This Molton Brown product should go hand in hand with Sensual Hanaleni bath & shower gel. The two together form a perfect combination for soft and freshly fragranced skin.
Alike, the shower gel, the body satiniser uses a blend of orchid oil, ylang-ylang, jasmine and violet to leave the skin smelling and feeling heavenly.
The lotion itself is a lovely light cream which is easy to apply using the pump applicator which is standard of all Molton Brown lotions. This is an excellent design as it avoid the fumble with crusted, greasy lids where too much is guaranteed to be poured! Instead, you press down on the applicator nozzle and a required amount is applied onto your skin. The cream is very easy to rub in, it absorbs very quickly and doesn't leave and fat or greasy residue. Alike the bath & shower gel, the fragrance lingers for quite a while afterwards and aswell as doing what it says in its name which is making the skin fel satin like, it also makes it smell heavenly.
Again, quite pricey for a moisturiser but for the brand and the luxury quality, it is well worth the expense.
