Advantages: Refreshes and awakens
Disadvantages: Again another expensive shower gel
About two years ago I was in a bit of a rut with my usual company (Lush) as I'd tried and used most of their shower range of items and although they were generally fabulous I got a bit bored as they didn't seem to be bringing out new items. So I turned to another favourite Molton Brown. I happened to be going away on holiday and was after an uplifting shower gel to put a spring into my step especially after a night out!
My local store is in Bath which when temporarily living just outside of Bristol was actually quite handy and the fact that I love going to Bath helped! The sales assistants always seem rather quiet in comparison to Lush assistants but once you break the icey barrier they are more than happy to help. After talking to one and telling her about my skin type she recommended Vitalising Vitamin A, B & C Bath & Shower.
*~*~* The Packaging *~*~*
I love the Molton Brown bottles! They are clear so you can see exactly how much you have left. Molton Brown don't vary their bottle style! Ever! They are always clear and have a shiny silver screw top which is leak free let me tell you! You have at the front of the bottle the Molton Brown logo and the item name plus its weight. On the back in the MB font the ingredients, barcode and where it is made - basically the usual blurb!
*~*~* The Item *~*~*
Vitamin A, B & C is a glorious lemon yellow in colour (think limon chello!) and is clear in colour once on a sponge or on your hand. You will find it's quite a gloopy consistency which fortunately for us won't end up straight down the plug hole! MB's shower and bath products (unless a cream base) tend to be quite thick which means you use a little rather than a lot!
*~*~* How to Use *~*~*
Now do I really need to explain this?! Well yes I do as I want to review every aspect! Now we all know how to apply a shower gel or bath foam! But as I said above you only need to use a little! In the shower you will find it really lathers up well on a sponge and you get a lovely fragrant lather which will stick to your skin until rinsed off and in the bath as soon as its put under the running water you will get a mountain of white bubbles which do not dissolve instantly and will stay with you for what seems like hours! You will find that you will need to use a moisturiser after use just to keep your skin soft.
*~*~* The Scent *~*~*
This product contains orange oil which gives us a wonderful citrus fragrance which fortunately is not like other products which smell like a cleaning product! It is sweet and incredibly uplifting and will definately cure a hangover due to the slight acidity to it. However though it isn't potent you could probably get a mild headache if you sat and smelt it too long! It definately will get you up in the mornings without a doubt!
*~*~* The Ingredients and Their Uses *~*~*
Orange Oil - It detoxifies the body and boosts the lymphatic system. At the same time, it also takes care of the collagen formation in the skin. It is known to possess antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, sedative and antiseptic therapeutic properties.
Vitamin A - Yes...usually we have this in a food product but this vitamin is ideal for maintaining healthy skin
Vitamin B - Again this vitamin is vital to keep skin and muscle tone healthy.
Vitamin C - Helps produce collagen which helps keep muscle tissue strong and keep blood vessels healthy. Its also great for wound healing and bruising on the skin.
*~*~* Price & Weight *~*~*
All MB's shower and bath products tend to be the same price so for this one you will be paying £16.00 for 300ml. You can get smaller bottles in store though for a cheaper price, I think around £12.00 but that is me trying to remember! Yes it's slightly expensive in comparison to other brands but I find with MB's products they do actually work!
*~*~* What Molton Brown say *~*~*
Refresh and revitalise your mind and body with this enlivening gel cleanser.
Squeezed from fresh oranges, the vitamin complex shower gel and bath foam softens, tones and strengthens the skin and boosts the senses with vitality.
*~*~* My Verdict *~*~*
I love this shower gel (I dont use it in the bath!), it really is awakening and uplifting. This came in incredibly useful while I was on holiday as it really did refresh me after a nights worth of drinking and even an days worth of sun! This really does wake up you up with its lovely sweet citrus scent which isn't too over powering but powerful enough to make your senses jump to attention!! As I have sensitive skin I am always worried in case it does react with my skin too much and even after I spoke to a sales assistant I was worried but fear not my skin did not react whatsoever!
Now I don't buy this shower gel unless I am going away or if I feel like a detox but as a daily shower gel I think it could get quite expensive!
Summary: Try and get a travel size!
