      Not something I'll be repurchasing

I've seen the Montagne Jeunesse range of products, with their brightly coloured sachets, in several stores before and have read many positive reviews. I saw a deal on Living Social for a basket of Montagne Jeunesse goodies at a reduced price. It sounded like a bargain, so I purchased one and got an exciting mix of stuff. Among the products was a sachet of this Algae and Dead Sea Salt Cellulite Mud.

Montagne Jeunesse is a Welsh company based in Swansea which makes beauty products for the face, body and hair, the majority of which come in colourful sachets. Many of their products are available on Amazon and from stores such as Savers, Boots and Superdrug, and they can also be obtained from the website, http://www.montagnejeunesse.com/. The brand is approved by the Vegetarian Society and the BUAV, so you can use the products in the confidence that no animals have been harmed in order to produce them.

I've tried several products in the past that claim to reduce or get rid of cellulite and I tend to be rather sceptical of them, so this product isn't something that I would have bought for myself. However, seeing as I had ended up with a sachet, I thought I might as well use it.

The sachet is shaped like the Bust Firming Gel sachet, made roughly to resemble the shape of a body. It has a picture of a woman lying on a rock in the sea with her legs in the air. For someone in such an obviously uncomfortable position, she seems rather happy! The product is described as a mud treatment masque for problem areas. It is designed to help improve skin elasticity, firmness and tone, and states that it can help detoxify the skin leaving it softer, clearer and smoother.

The directions indicate that to use the product, you should massage it onto your problem areas - in my case, my thighs and bottom - and leave for 15-20 minutes before rinsing it with water. I decided to use it at the same time as the Bust Firming Gel, and used both while I was letting my hair dye get to work - no one could accuse me of not being able to multitask! I probably looked ridiculous with clear gel all over my bust, hair plastered to my scalp and bright salmon pink thighs!

Pink was the colour this mud turned out to be, and it was reasonably thick and stuck to the skin well - it had the consistency of a face mask. I massaged the contents of the sachet into my thighs, finding that the whole sachet was used up after I had applied the product liberally. This was to be expected, but I thought it was worth mentioning as some Montagne Jeunesse products allow two or even three applications.

Leaving the mud on my thighs for the requisite time, I experienced a warming sensation on my skin and a slight tingling which was rather pleasant. This died down eventually though. The sachet stated that when you rinse the product off, you may experience a warming and raising of your skin's surface, owing to the active anti-cellulite formula. I did find that the warming effect of the product was reactivated and my skin started to tingle again. After I washed it all off, however, this reduced and my skin went back to normal.

So what effect did the product have on my skin? Well, my skin felt softer and looked in good condition, but in terms of cellulite, I could see very little difference. Perhaps there was a slight reduction but nothing to write home about.

This sachet is priced at £3.39 on Amazon, but it's not something I'll be buying for myself. Though it isn't particularly messy to apply - it was a faff, but it didn't fall off once applied - it takes too long to wait before you can rinse it off, and doesn't make that much of a difference anyway.

Montagne Jeunesse products are made in the UK and they can be bought from places like Boots, Superdrug, Savers and Amazon (where you can currently buy 6 sachets for a fiver). Normally they are priced at £1 or less which makes them good value for money, particularly when each sachet can normally be used at least twice. You can find out more at www.montagnejeunesse.com.

Cover your legs in this mask and let it work wonders on those thighs!

Montagne Jeunesse sell a large range of beauty products and mask's including face masks which include Chocolate, Dead Sea, Apricot & Almond and many more masks including peel off masks. They also sell toning masks for your face and hair masks', whether you have dry, frizzy or damaged hair there's one to suit all hair types. As well as these masks they also do masks for legs & feet and also do bath liquid as well and pore strips and eye patches as well to combat tired eyes or puffy eyes.

        ***THE MASK***
This is an Algae & Dead Sea Salt Cellulite Mud Mask. The Extract of algae helps improve skin elasticity & tone when massaged into your skin. Natural Dead Sea Salts & Minerals condition & tone for soft, smooth skin.

It comes in a bright looking sachet with a lady on the front with the product on her legs. It also states the directions, vegetarian standard and against animal testing signs on the back of the sachet.

It does have a warning paragraph on the back and also suggests to test on a small patch of skin before applying product.

        ***USING THE PRODUCT***
As this product was in a sachet it was easy to squeeze out and was easy to apply to my legs. It was quite thick and had a slight smell to it but it wasn't an unpleasant smell and wasn't at all unpleasant to apply. It was a pink/peach colour (colour may vary, due to ingredients). You get 40g of product in the sachet.
It took me 5-10 mins to apply and to make sure my legs/the problem areas had been covered. I then waited for 15mins for the mask to do the rest. The mask tends to go dry on your legs and goes a darker colour, so it gives you a rough guide when to take the mask off.

The mask was easy to remove, it washed off easily with water. My legs felt a lot smoother & softer after using the mask. I was impressed with the results.

I did experience the warming sensation after removing the mask which was slightly uncomfortable but this disappeared within about 1 hour.

        ***THE RESULTS***
It definitely made my legs look and feel smoother but to get rid of cellulite I think you would need to use this product regularly to achieve this.

I use this product once a week, and my legs have also become firmer and more toned as well as smooth and soft.

        ***WHERE TO BUY/PRICE***
I got this product from boots and it was a bargain price of 99p, they have a large selection of different types of masks and body treatments. I have also seen this in Superdrug as well for about the same price.
