Advantages: non-invasive perfume, good sweat protection, no white marks - hurrah!!!!
Disadvantages: drying time
MUM deodorant has been around since, well time began...for me anyway! Seriously though, as a little girl I remember my mum using this deodorant for years, it was her favorite. Packaging --------- Well the bottle is nothing amazing, it is slightly old-fashioned, with the lid co-ordinating with whatever fragrance you have bought. For example, cool blue - yes you've guessed it, has a blue lid! There is something comforting abut the familiar logo and packaging of MUM, I suppose a recognition from childhood. The shape of the bottle is slim and very easy to hold, well designed for using. What does claim to do? ---------------------- MUM - I think it stands for 'Morning until Midnight' or at least it used to. This is an anti-perspirant deodorant, so the deodorant helps you smell yum, whilst the anti-perspirant stops the sweat. There is no alcohol in MUM, quite a bonus I feel, as when you sweat a lot, the alcohol in deodorants can smell funny. It claims to keep you showerfresh all day, with an invisible bodyguard, a light fragrance and a gentle, non-sting formulation. Does it do any of the above? ---------------------------- Well yes, I think it does. As a person who sweats quite a lot, and has hot flushes (yes, hot flushes - I'm only 21!) I have found MUM to be really effective. It helps to stop the sweat and lasts all day long (well, as the slogan goes - morning until midnight!). I used MUM the other day for a long hard shopping trip and it really was effective, that for me is the ultimate sweat test, hot sticky shops - and it was a very warm day in Glasgow on Monday (bizarre I know, not that it lasted!) And MUM did keep me 'shower fresh' as it claimed. The deodorant or smelly part of MUM is very pleasant and yes, is light without being overpowering. I don't know all the variations, but I have tried- Cool Blue- nice, light girly smell, fresh and non-invasive. Non-perfumed- no sm
ell at all, can be used by blokes. Sheer Pleasure-heavier smell than cool blue, more perfumed but still non-invasive. There are other fragrances, but I'm not sure what they are and have not tried them. It really is a good quality deodorant, it also doesn't sting after shaving your armpits, a big bonus. The size of MUM is 50ml, and I find that this lasts quite a while, a couple of months at least, so this is a bargain, as it only costs around £1. Are there any negatives? ------------------------ Well yes there is one famous negative - drying time. MUM is a liquid deodorant applied with a rollerball. It does dry within a couple of minutes unless you put too much on, when it can take three or four minutes. Not so good when you are in a hurry. But it really does depend on how much you use, I use a few 'turns' of the rollerball, others may only use one or two. I think that drying time for deodorants is the most 'famous' complaint - it can be annoying, waving your hands about in the air! Would I use this product again? ------------------------------- I would use MUM again, it's a bargain product and an old favourite. I like to alternate my deodorants, my favourite being Dove until I remembered MUM and started using it again. One very positive factor about MUM is that it never leaves those irritating white marks at all, wonderful especially when changing outfits half-way throught the day or trying on clothes in shops. I've just realised why this deodorant is called MUM, it is very reliable, (cliche, I know!) so this week I've gone all nostalgic, and chosen to stick with my MUM!
