This seemed a logical follow up review from my recent foray into the world of teething - your child has got their first tooth - how are you going to look after it? Having made a bit of a mess of looking after my own teeth, I was determined to look after my son's teeth right from the start. Now, I knew from my wealth of baby books that you need to brush them twice a day with a special children's toothpaste. A child's toothpaste has a lower concentration of fluoride than adult toothpaste - I presume this has to do with the fact that they are more likely to swallow the toothpaste than an adult, which can be bad for your teeth, ironically. When we started brushing our oldest daughters teeth my first choice in toothpaste for her was Colgate's first. She has used it happily ever since (even though now at the grown up age of nearly 3 we do like all the new variations with toy stuff on etc) and still does if that is what she gets on her toothbrush morning or evening. It looks like a gel slightly blue but see through. Comes in a upright tube that can stand on its own on its cap. The cap is nice and large so easy for little hands to take of without needing mummy or daddy's help and comes out of the tube without much pressure needed. A good first toothpaste and the picture of a tooth on ... Read the complete review

I was first introduced to this toothpaste when I gave birth to my son. I got a bounty pack from the hospital with a trial sample in it. I thought it was a little daft as it would be a while before he got his teeth. As it turned out he waited until he was 9 months old. However, the trial tube lasted quite a while and I found it very good. The last thing you want on a young child is a very strong tasting toothpaste that they hate. They wouldn't want to brush their teeth again. This one is a pleasent flavour and really cleans their teeth well. It is also a very well known make of toothpaste which goes back many years. So should be well ... Read the complete review

I got my first tube of My First Colgate toothpaste in the Bounty pack I received when I left hospital. I started to clean Benjamins teeth as soon as they came throuhg so that he would get into the habit of having them done twice a day. We started using this toothpaste because it was the one we had in the house and Benjamin loved having his teeth cleaned. When this trial tube of toothpaste ran out I bought an own brand toothpaste and Benjamin hated it.He screwed his face up and you could see he was no longer enjoying having his teeth cleaned. I bought another tube of My First Colgate and he now loves having his teeth cleaned again :) ... Read the complete review
