      A sickly sweet cream.

Last Christmas I was given a few n-spa products. This is not a brand I have used before and so I was excited to try these out and see what I liked and didn't like. One of the items was this coconut ice cream body cream which I was keen to try.

The cream is stored in a rather large circular clear plastic pot. The pot has a black plastic lid that twists on and off very easily. Though it is quite large it is also relatively shallow, that said there is a lot of cream inside which is always a plus. The cream in this particular product is a light creamy colour and therefore the sticker on the lid matches this colour, as it does with other flavours. The sticker has the brand name and product info and on the reverse are the directions and ingredients.

The design isn't exactly going to winning any awards any time soon. It is functional though and easy to use. I haven't experienced any real problems with it and can't see that I will. The colours are inoffensive and would therefore look nice in most bathrooms. All in all underwhelming but nothing to dislike.

The cream is pale in colour and though not thick is doesn't exactly flow, just holds the shape. I usually like very thick body creams so I was a little disappointed to see this one was not exactly thick. However, once applied to your skin it gets even worse! The cream melts on contact with your body, because of the heat, and literally becomes like a liquid. It is very easily absorbed but I never feel like I've been properly moisturised after using it. My skin does feel soft but it isn't a very indulgent product and it never reaches the same levels as some of my preferred body creams.

The smell of the cream has to be the worst thing about it. I suppose the 'coconut ice cream' name should have given me an indication of what I was in store for, but it didn't. The smell of it is sickly sweet and totally unpleasant. It honestly smells like the kind of insipid perfumes you get given when you are 10. It does have a slight coconut smell but predominantly what I smell is overly sweet. I really like products that use fresh fruity smells but this is so synthetic that it just makes me think it must be packed with chemicals. I actually really hate applying it because of this - it makes me smell like a teenage girl who has a crush on Justin Bieber. Not exactly my dream cream.

I will continue to use this cream because it was free and there is a decent amount in the pot. The smell and the feel of the cream will put me off buying it again but I may as well use what I have.

A great product which I love and can no longer go without!

I love coconut and all things coconut smelling. I also love N-Spa products and soft skin so, naturally, when I received this as part of a gift set last Christmas I was over the moon. I wasn't too sure of the 'ice cream' part of the title but, fortunately, it just smelt like a regular coconut smelling cosmetic product. Very overpowering, very, well, coconuty.

I started to use this every night after my bath or shower. I would dry my skin and then apply a generous amount to my body. You probably don't need to use the amount I used, I just loved the smell thus couldn't help myself.

I found the body cream rubbed in very easily and left no streaks or white bits on my skin. I find with some similar products to this, my skin often feels wet after applying it which I don't like. This, however, didn't. Sure it left my skin feeling hydrated but not wet.

After a couple of minutes the effects of using this product were very clear. My skin smelt lovely, you really could still smell it on my skin! It felt soft and refreshed and smooth and just made me feel so much cleaner and nicer after my wash.

I'd go to bed and wake up the next morning still amazed at how nice my skin smelt and felt. As soon as I used up all the original tub of this I received for Christmas I went out to my local Asda store and brought another one for £3. Well worth the money!

I would recommend this product to anyone who likes soft skin and coconut smelling things. You won't be disappointed!

      I Hate Coconut ... Or Do I?

Out of the whole N-Spa range of scents the coconut range is not one I would have picked up for myself. Ive never been keen on coconut fragrances so I dont usually buy products that claim to have that scent so really this 'N-Spa Coconut Ice Cream Body Cream' would have been last on my list of scents to try out. But my mom not realising I dont like the scent bought me a gift set that had all the coconut scented products in it from this range - I think she was hoping I wouldnt like it as coconut is actually her favourite smell - but because she'd bought it for me as a treat I thought Id try out the body butter first and Ive been so surprised. Could this product turn a coconut convert like me into a lover of the fragrance? It just might!!

      Useful Information:
      Price: 200ml tub - £3.50
Stockists: ASDA & the N-Spa website.
Other Information: Suitable for all skin types - but in my experience it works particularly well on dry skin & this comes in many others different scents including fudge butter & angel cake among others.

The packaging for this cream - and by the look of it the whole N-Spa range is very simple yet effective and colourful. It comes in a large 200ml, plastic tub that you would expect from a body butter - it has the clear plastic on the bottom and then a black screw off lid on the top. Which as always with tubs like this is very easy to remove but a little bit more difficult to put back on when you have the body butter all over your hands - but like I said thats an issue I have with all body butter tubs, not just this one. On the top of the tub is a hot pink sticker with the brand name and a little bit about the product overall - the bright white will certainly attract your attention in the store, the rest of the information can be found on the bottom of the tub - directions for use, ingredients, shelf life, tub size etc so any information you need should be somwhere on the tub - there is an address and website on there though should you have any other queries. The packaging is simple yet effective in my opinion.

You simply apply this like you would a normal moisturiser - all over your body [although this would be too thick for my face!] and apply more to the drier areas which on me are my elbows & knees. N-Spa do recommend applying this after a shower and I have to agree as I think my skin feels so great when I apply it that way and I feel the effects are much better - although I do apply this onto totally dry skin as well and it works brilliantly that way as well, so I guess it doesnt really matter. The consistency of this butter is just right for me as its thick enough to feel really creamy and nourishing on my skin without being so thick that my skin feels clogged or heavy so its just right for me. And even though it is really thick it doesnt take long at all to sink into my skin so I can apply this just before getting dressed and not worry about getting it all over my clothes - and normally body butters take ages to sink in so thats another advantage for me.

The cream itself is a bright white in colour and does look very creamy and nourishing even just from looking at it - and usually if something looks that good then the results are normally good as well - which happily in this case it totally true. Im even happier to report that this smells AMAZING which is very strange coming from me - the usual hater of coconut products! The scent was the one thing about this gel that I thought I would hate. Coconut scents just arent my thing and I cannot remember the last time [before this one] that I liked that type of scented product. This one smells like proper coconut ice that my mom makes rather than the synthetic fragrance I think of when it comes to this type of product. The smell is much more pleasant that I expected and it has convinced me to try more coconut products so it has converted me a little bit! The scent lasts on my skin for ages after using this so I get lovely wafts of this all day long - if you dont like coconut scents then this one might even be for you!

The effects of this body butter are just as brilliant and are equally good [if not better] than my usual, more expensive creams for my body. This does intensely moisturise my skin and the dry parts are even starting to look much better and much softer since Ive been using this which is amazing as those parts are very dry normally. My skin feels much softer and smoother as soon as I apply this but it doesnt feel too heavy at all or have any of that greasy residue left behind so this is perfect for everyday use I think - for me anyway. This works really well, smells gorgeous and makes my skin look and feel so much better as soon as Ive used it - I cant find a fault with this one. I assumed Id hate it and in fact I adore it - I will 100% be buying this again and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it. For people who hate coconut scents - try this and you might be shocked, like I was!!

      Thanks For Reading.
