Heaven in a pot!!!! I love love love this product!! Its the most divine moisturiser that I have ever purchased! About a year ago my sister in law was pregnant and was searching for as many natural products for her pre-birth and post-birth symptons. She and I discovered 'Neals Yard', we were only ment to be in town for a couple of hours, that quickly extended when we were lured into the shop! You can have complete confidence that there products are 100% natural as they have leaflets and copious amounts of information of each of their products. We were also wowed by the shop assistants who were so so passionate and very knowlegeable about the products in the store. This cream attracted me due to the gorgeous natural scent of the Orange and I knew that Greaniums are very good for healing and skin complaints such as eczema, which I have, so I pruchased the moisturiser. It, as most of their products do, comes in a blue glass container, which prevents and sun damage to the product, Neals Yard also recycle their bottles/packaging, so you can return the bottle/pot to the shop for a refill, or if you are like me, I like putting them on a windowsill for the sun to shine through! The products are not cheap, however they are good value for money in that you only need a small amount ot the product which sinks into the skin, its not a heavy cream, but gives you the barrier form the winter elements and makes your skin feels soft and smooth.
Neal's Yard Geranium and Orange body butter sounded wonderful to me but first of all I had to find a way of sampling it without buying the full sized pot that is currently priced at about £22 !
I love the Body Shop body butters and even though they weigh in cheaper then the Neal's Yard creams I think that those are an expensive treat.
My skin seems to have dried out considerably with every year that passes and unless I give it plenty of nourishment then it looks dull and lack lustre.
I am always searching for cheap goodies on E bay and there was a 40g pot of Neal's Yard Geranium and Orange body butter just about to go under the hammer, one final bid of £2.80 and that little pot was mine all mine to sample.
Neal's Yard adopt a plain packaging style that looks classic and elegant, the clear glass jar has a paper band running around the centre of it which is filled with the product information and the lid states that the product is one of Neal's Yard Remedies, Covent Garden.
I have had many different types of body butter in my time but this is the first time that I have come across geranium and orange, it sounds mystical and unusual.
As well as being infused with orange and geranium the body butter contains pumpkin seed oil, olive oil, beeswax and shea butter.
That list of ingredients instantly makes me think that the butter is extremely nourishing, shea butter combined with two different oils and a natural wax has to offer extreme moisturising.
The information on the label states the the Neals Yard body butter should breathe life into dull and dry skin.
The Neal's Yard butter is an entirely natural product that is made in the United Kingdom.
The body butter smells good enough to eat although it may not look it. The opaque butter is fairly thick and needs to be lifted out of the jar with your fingertips. The butter has a pleasant texture, it feels soft and very oily and you only need to put a tiny amount of the body butter onto your skin at any one time. The Neals Yard body butter just seems to melt away in the warmth of your skin and although the skin soon starts to absorb the butter it cannot seem to absorb it fully.
The sweet fresh smell is very refreshing, the floral mixes well with the citrus and it can only be described as a lovely experience.
The skin on my arms tends to be very dull and dry and I like the fact that some of the butter still seems to be sinking into the surface of the skin quite a while later. This means that my skin is being well nourished.
I feel that my E bay bargain is simply amazing, the fragrance is wonderful and it has great nourishing powers but I personally could not afford to make this a regular purchase ( at full RRP ), if I find some more lurking on E bay then all well and good.
The Neal's Yard body butter is so rich that it can hardly fail to make your skin feel delightfully soft and that soft luxurious feeling lasted for hours.
Neal's Yard offer a whole range of organic skin products. They also offer a skin scrub, a bathing duo and a shower gel in the same fragrance.
If you get the chance of either a free sample or a taster pot then take time out to give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
I was given a 40g jar of this product as part of a freebie gift pack from my optician; I hadn't previously tried any of the Neal's Yard Remedies range and I was delighted to be able to try it out.
The body butter comes in a glass jar, simply labelled with the product name, the claims as to what it will do and the ingredients. It is an organic product and has the endorsement of the Soil Association. It is also made in England.
The body butter itself is very thick - it reminds me of the beeswax furniture polish that I use from time to time - and seems to "melt" slightly on contact with my fingers. It appears almost granular in the jar but smoothes on to the skin with no grainy residue at all.
It is easily absorbed into the skin and leaves a slight sheen on the surface of the skin. I have a slight tan just now on my arms and it leaves them not only feeling, but also looking, moisturised and healthy.
It's rich enough to use on my hands too, and is excellent on knees, elbows and those other neglected areas.
I use it sparingly - a little seems to go a long way - I'm also wary that using too much may leave my skin feeling slightly greasy due to the high proportion of olive oil in the butter. And it isn't cheap, so I want it to last as long as possible!
The scent is divine - the geranium is predominant, but the sharpness of the orange counteracts the flowery sweetness and prevents it smelling too old-ladyish. The scent lingers too, but isn't too obvious as to overpower my perfume. Slightly worryingly, I do find myself sniffing my arm from time to time as it a very uplifting and summery smell.
It is undeniably on the pricey side for a body butter, but it does last a long time and would be a lovely gift - particularly for someone for whom the organic credentials are important.
