Advantages: Great looking tanned skin in a flash

Disadvantages: Can never stop using!

I bought Nivea Sun Kissed lotion 2 weeks before I went on holiday to Australia this summer. Due to being in England I obviously had no natural tan going! And i wanted to look good for my trip. I'd been looking at fake tan sprays for quite a while but was worried about streaky lines and appearing orange overnight! The advert on tv for Nivea sunkissed is what attracted me to the product, must have been the pretty girl! Damn those tv people and their advertising tricks!!

I bought a bottle home with me, the price was very fair, just under £5 in Wilkinsons. I bought the medium-dark type as I am naturally slightly olive. I thought bargain! I also thought, this just won't work. It will be one of those 'wool over the eyes' type things. So feeling desperate i lathered the stuff on EVERYWHERE that night before bed....and then again an hour later for good measure :D

Waking up in the morning....my boyfriend commented I looked browner!!!! I was AMAZED by the quick results and not a streak in sight. Because I did not have very many days to my holiday i started putting on the lotion at least once a day and sometimes twice, putting more on my arms and legs as these would be out the most. For the first 4 days i looked and felt pretty - I even got numerous wolf whistles walking down the street and even felt confident enough to slip into a mini skirt without any tights on! For me - a huge step!!

THEN however I started to get a distinct orange tinge. Telling myself it was just a healthy glow I ignored it...until upon a visit home when my brother informed me I was beginning to look like Victoria Beckham. Hmm. Losing my confidence I stopped using nivea and returned to normal body lotion. Now it having just been 6 days I really didnt think there would be any consequences to my actions :( sadly i was greatly mistaken. 2 days later I was looking brown and dirty. My legs and stomach were the worst, with the build up of lotion peeling away like dirt from skin and looking dreadful. Not even 3 days of pure scrubbing hell would get rid of it!

To say the least the first week of my holiday was ruined :( Having bought a whole suitcase full of skimpy clothes I was reduced to jeans and jumpers as I couldnt show my legs, arms, stomach or even the v from my neck.

A week or so later it had cleared up and I went back to being pale, which maybe not so surprisingly didn't bother me nearly so much!! From now on...I will stick with the real deal..the SUN!!

Summary: Good short term tan but peels away horribly when you stop using it
