Advantages: Soothes and Moisturises
Disadvantages: Can be a little loose in the consistency
Nivea Hand Nourishing Cream
When I bought my Nivea body cream I reviewed earlier I also got with it in a pack a hand cream and something else.
**The Hype**
Nivea nourishing hand cream is advertised as an intensive cream to restore lost moisture and nourish dry cuticles. It has some special ingredients too like ceramides, vitamins and macademia nut oil. If you use this stuff daily it is meant to improve your hands elasticity and leave your hands and cuticles smooth and supple. This is meant to have an immediate effect.
**The bottle**
I have the 30ml version and it is white tube like shape with a blue lid. It has the brand name in a small blue box and a picture of hands. It clearly shows it is a nourishing cream but also shows that this is for intensive care to restore lost moisture and lists the quick ingredients on the front. It is a flip lid opening and the cream comes out quite thick like the Nivea body cream in this same version.
**Using it**
It comes out neatly in a squirt and I find if you squirt a little dollop this will cover one hand and all fingers and cuticles. It comes out in a thick dollop but once you start to spread it into the hand and cuticles it has a more loose consistency. Like the body cream version though it blends in within a few seconds. It also does not leave a sticky feel but leaves a shine and feels instantly smooth. I then add more to the cuticles when they feel particularly dry or damaged -especially when I am wanting to push them back and do a manicure. There is less of an aroma to this over the Nivea body cream and it smells quite pleasant like any other hand cream.
**Opinion**
As I mentioned in other review I do seem to have drier skin as I get older but I have always had quite dry hands that need moisturising regularly. They aren't overly dry but will suck in creams readily without feeling greasy. I try to look after my hands with creams as to keep moistured as I do have quite dryish and sensitive skin. This cream causes no irritation to my sensitive skin and is a good one to use. I would not say it is the only one I use as I do have a few different ones that I change between as I like variety. This one is perhaps better in the summer months compared to some more intense ones I use in winter.
**Does it live up to hype**
Yes over time using this each day does make a difference and it has made my hands feel smoother and gentler.
**Recommend**
I think this is a good hand cream and using daily certainly improves the softness of the skin and the dryness. I got it in my pack with the body cream for about £5 so I am not entirely sure of the individual price but I suspect it will be bigger than my 30ml sold on its own and be under £3.
Summary: A super hand and cuticle cream that smooths and moistures the skin
