I am currently sat with this product on my legs, and blimey, these legs of mine are feeling super soft. This product is great; it's not too greasy like some body lotions can be, so doesn't leave your body feeling slimey, and lets face it, a bit like a slug. So, for this I give it the thumbs up.
The smell of this lotion is beautiful, it has a orange flower scent which is shall I say distinctive, I haven't smelt anything like this before and it really does set it apart from other body lotions on the market.
The smell really does stick with you and last for a long time, I like it however, I could see that others may not be as keen on this smell.
The lotion claims to last 24 hours. I think this may be a stretch, but I did put this lotion on before I went to bed last night, and my legs were beautifully soft this morning when I woke up. But, I doubt this would last for 24 hours.
I have this body lotion in the 250ml bottle. This has lasted me a while as you do not need to put large amount of this on.
Overall, this is a good lotion, and leaves you skin feeling soft. I have actually recommended this to my friend just yesterday, as she was having problems with other moisturisers leaving her skin feeling greasy and spotty.
Nivea Happy time body lotion
For me body lotions are a daily habit and I get through each bottle in no time. Hence why I have tried and tested so many different brands. Nivea Happy time instantly stood out to me with its 'feel good sensation' slogan. Nivea is also a brand I have used before and I can always rely on them to give good results whether it is their shower gel or face wash. I always look for a 24 hour hydrating lotion as my skin is very prone to dryness, so I was thrilled that this product was also a 24 hour lotion.
Price and Packaging
The nivea happy time is priced at around £6.11 for 250ml. I don't think Boots stock them anymore, so you are still able to purchase from online stores. The bottle itself is slender and has a curved shape. This actually helps you to grip the bottle better, whilst opening. The bottle is white with the nivea logo, a picture of an orange. It states it is for 'normal skin' and has bamboo extract. It also has a sticker on the lid saying 'invigorating flower scent.'
The body lotion states it moisturises and cares for your skin, leaving it with a mild scent of orange flower. They claim the lotion is silky textured enriched with bamboo extracts and milk proteins. I have no idea what benefits these have for the skin, but it all sounds very positive.
From initially opening the lid, you can smell the orange flower scent. It very much smells like those love heart shaped 'I heart' sweets. The lotion is thin and absorbs very quickly into the skin. The orange flower smell is very pleasant and it really does uplift your mood. My skin feels instantly nourished and has a healthy glow. In regards to all day moisturisation I still need to top up during the day. Then again this product is only for 'normal skin' and is probably why it is not as thick as other lotions I am used to.
To conclude I really like the infused smell and it would be really great if nivea did other fragrances. I won't be buying again, only due to the fact my skin requires something deeply replenishing. Due to this it only qualifies for 3 stars for me.
This moisturiser is called Happy rime and it really is happy time.
The lotion is not too runny so nce to sqeeze out. As soon as you squeese it out the fragrance hits you and it is really nice. Niva have done really well in getting a smell that does make you happy and smile. It is orangy smell and so fresh and light.
Once it is one your skin it is easy to rub in, maybe just the fragrance makes it so nice. The smell stays on your skin for ages after and it is really nice to wear if ging out or having a romantic night with a loved one.
The effectiveness of this lotion is great too and really makes the skin nice and soft for a long time. If you are looking for a moisturiser with a nice smell this is definitely worth trying.
I got this on offer with some other Nivia products and only pais £1.50 for it. When not on offer it is about £3.50 but I would pay the full price for it as it is so good. Moisturiser are pretty expensive now so if you are going to pay out, you may as well get something which works well and smells nice!
Having always been a fan of Nivea products, I was delighted when my sister left this body lotion behind following a recent visit, as it gave me the perfect opportunity to 'try before I buy.'
The bottle is simplistic in its design, plain white with a slight curve making it easy to hold, especially with slippery hands. It has the usual 'Nivea' logo in navy and a picture of oranges on the front.
As soon as I opened the bottle I fell in love with this moisturiser as it is heavily, but not artificially, scented with the uplifting fragrance of crisp, citrus fruits. It smells like sun-ripened oranges and instantly evokes images of balmy summer days.
The body lotion itself is thick but easy to get out of the bottle, and is easily absorbed once applied. It leaves no greasy residue yet manages to leave the skin silky and smooth and not at all tight or tacky to the touch.
As well as containing extracts of orange flower, Happy Time is also enriched with bamboo extracts and milk proteins and these active ingredients are really effective as the body lotion is long-lasting.
I'm not sure the delicious scent lasts 24 hours as suggested on the bottle, but it certainly lingers for a few hours longer than most other similar products I have used.
I can't stress enough how much I love this body lotion as it smells amazing and really does make me feel uplifted, invigorated and happy!!! It also fulfills all my requirements from a body moisturiser due to its quick absorption and softening qualities.
Costing around £6 for 250ml, Nivea Happy Time is widely available and is often half price in Boots and Sainsbury's.
I was recently given a free sample of this and I was so impressed I am now a regular buyer of this product! It smells divine! It really is the best smelling body lotion that I have used, its a mixture of orange scents and contains bamboo extract. Its the only product that I've used that my boyfriend actually commented on.
I buy the range for normal skin and have had no problems, it moisturises my skin really well, absorbs into my skin quickly and doesnt leave that sticky feeling that some body lotions can. It leaves my skin with a lovely silky feel. It says that it last for 24 hours and I agree the orange scents do last a really long time and my skin still smells fragranced for hours after.
It contains bamboo extract which I believe strengthens my skins natural protection, although it would be good if it had some slight SPF in it for that extra protection. Its described as a feel good sensation and it really does what it says, after applying the lotion I feel amazing my skin feels really soft and moisturised and the gorgeous orange scent lingers on my skin making me feel revitalised.
I moisturise top to toe every day without fail, and have done for as long as I can remember, so I'm always on the look out for different moisturising lotions as I get through a fair few! Nivea is such a classic, well-known brand that I always trust that any Nivea product I pick up will be good value for money and effective.
The packaging is clean and simple - mainly white with the distinctive Nivea logo and a simple yellow graphic. The cream dispenses easily and isn't too thick or runny - it's just right! It's easy to apply and absorbs into the skin really easily.
Overall I was really pleased with this product. I adore the citrus smell of this body lotion and it really does give you a lift so is the perfect pick-me-up after your morning shower. The good thing is that it's quite a subtle smell so it isn't sickly or overpowering, yet the scent stays on the skin through the day, and leaves your skin feeling lovely and soft.
This is one I will definitely be buying again!
J'adore this moisturiser.
I was lucky enough to be given a free sample of this last year, and I haven't looked back since. I then bought my first bottle, and thanks to the longevity of this product, am only on my second, now. You can expect to pay around £6 for a 250ml bottle, but I often see it on a half price offer, and stock up...
I'm not usually a fan of Nivea, but I really love the lasting effects of this moisturiser. It certainly kept my skin soft and supple, I tend to apply it every day or every other day, and I have no complaints.
It sinks in really quickly, but somehow manages to also be quite thick and nourishing. It is a lotion, so you shouldn't really expect too much luxury from it, but I certainly think it is a cut above most other lotions.
The smell, is the best thing about it. The lotion perfoms amazingly well, but the smell is something else. It's highly scented with citrus fruits, and it really does make for an emotive scent. Calling it happy time is no joke, the scent is of summer, and so it really is an enjoyable way to spend a few minutes...
I really recommend this, I always feel great after using it, and the softening effects last a good while.
I am a huge Nivea fan when it comes to moisturiser and always try thier new products. I think they are one of the best for getting the moisture back in your skin but not giving you an oil look!! It also soothes the skin after been in the sun all day!!
This product has a lovely scent to it, fresh but not over powering. my skin can sometimes be very sensitive and this prouct is ideal as it dosent react with me.
Quickly into the skin and dosent leave you with sticky clammy feeling.
Like most Nivea products this one is very basic. upright squirty bottle with a clip top which is useful ater application as you dont need to struggle with a screw top with moisturised hands!!
Reasonable prices at £6.50 and bottle lasts around 3 weeks of full body application. can be picked up from most chemists and supermarkets deinatly in boots and superdrug look out for promotions as this frequently has money off.
Got a sample of this the other day, with the ASOS magazine and I immediately fell in love with it. I am a big fan of all the Nivea ranges, this one in particular NOW!! I have used every lad drop and vowed to buy some more!!
As you can see from the above picture, this comes a 250ml curved white bottle! The Nivea logo stands out and the colours follow the usual theme of Nivea.
There is small image underneath of what looks like cream above a bamboo shoot with a slice of orange? Can't make it out! Anyway, this is Happy Time Body Lotion with Bamboo Extract. It has that 'Feel good sensation'!
This lotion definitely cares for your skin, adding moisture and leaving it with orange flower scent which lingers on your cool skin for hours! Honestly, it makes you feel 100% perfect!
The bamboo extract in this is there to prolong the sensation for your skin throughout the day. I love to use this on my whole body because it smells so great!
To put it on all you have to do is wash hands and smooth all over your body!
This is available from beauty stores like Boot's and some supermarkets. It is also sold in random stores which would be too long to list. It's rrp price is around £2.00! This is not bad at all.
The advantages of this are that it strengthens your skins natural beauty, it gives off that wonderful scent, its not too expensive and finally it smooths out your skin.
The disadvantages are that if you put too much on, it can become a pain to get off or rub in and also there are cheaper alternatives.
I like this because of the smell, the packaging and the price! It is all round great!!!
5/5 From me.
I needed new body lotion and decided to try a new brand. My eyes were wandering along the shelves at the chemist's and came to a halt at the NIVEA section. This was due to the shape of the bottle the NIVEA designer had created: the upper part of the right side is slightly curved in (see piccie at the top of the site). The bottle looks elegant and cries out to the consumer, "Grab me!", at least to the right handers among them.
I looked closer to find the right skin type and discovered 'normal to dry skin', just what I need. Under the name of the product NIVEA Body Lotion Happy Time half a slice of orange is depicted lying in some white sloshy stuff - obviously the body lotion - and underneath stand the words 'Feel-Good Sensation' and Bamboo Extracts.
Bamboo! This must be one versatile plant. We've got a bush in our garden, I've recently bought ankle socks made of bamboo and now body lotion! How's that possible? Search me.
The promised Feel-Good Sensation is elaborated on the back of the bottle, "It's a feel-good body lotion that makes your whole body smile! It keeps that feeling of lightness all day long and energises not only the body, but the senses, too." I found the idea of my 'smiling' body so silly that I had to buy the product. Later, at home, I looked at the NIVEA home-page and found that whoever had thought of this message hadn't had enough, they went on waxing lyrical, "Your silky soft skin will giggle every day when you experience new NIVEA Happy Time body lotion. Infused with the gorgeous feel-good scent of orange flower, it's what happiness is made of. It's pure bliss in a bottle."
Goodness gracious, smile - giggle - happiness - bliss, I only want a body lotion! I usually apply body lotion in the morning, and there can be no product whatsoever that makes me smile, giggle, feel happiness and bliss. I'm grumpy at that time of day!
Long-lasting moisturiser, that's what I'm interested in. So to the test: The cap is easy to open with one hand and when closed stays closed, this is a good thing. The liquid is rich and easy to apply. As I haven't the foggiest of what bamboo smells like, I can't say anything about this component. Regarding the orange flowers - with some imagination I can detect a whiff, but not more. On the whole I can say that the smell of this body lotion is agreeable but not very distinctive.
It doesn't take long until the lotion is absorbed, I'd say that you can dress after three minutes without smearing it into your clothes. The agreeable smell stays for a long time and I can truly say that my skin still feels smooth after hours. Yet, it doesn't utter a sound, not one giggle! Should I write a letter of complaint to the producers?
I could stop here, I've told you enough to help you with a buying decision. But aren't we here to broaden our horizon? I decided to add some background information when a British online friend remarked that she had thought NIVEA was a British product. This reminded me of a real life Italian woman who once started an argument with me about NIVEA being Italian. When I said it wasn't, she cried out, "But it's produced in Italy!" That may well be, but NIVEA is as German as, say, Bosch, Siemens and Volkswagen.
NIVEA cream was born in 1911 after some scientists had discovered the emulsifying agent Eucerit, the first water-in-oil emulsifier able to produce a long lasting ointment base. Thanks to its consistency, the cream was pure white, and the name NIVEA is actually derived from the Latin word nix, nivis meaning snow. The German pronunciation is NI-VEY-A with the stress on the second syllable.
Between 1928 and 1930 the product range was expanded to include hair care and shaving products, and the products were sold outside Germany for the first time. From the net: "Today, NIVEA is the world's largest skin and body care brand with its success rooted in continuity and innovation. This can be seen in the many successful NIVEA sub-brands: Body, Visage, Beauté, Sun, For Men, Hair Care, and Baby, each of which can be traced back to the beginnings of NIVEA cream."
Body Lotion Happy Time is sold at Boots for 5.98 GBP (250 ml)
