Advantages: A really nice shower cream

Disadvantages: none yet

I have been trying new body washes and shower gels lately much to the other halfs dismay as the bathroom is already full of half empty bottles! I haven’t really found one to replace my favourite Dove one, I was about to give up and go back to my tried and tested Dove body wash when browsing in my local Superdrug I came across this one. I had a quick sniff and loved the smell also anything that promises me a happy time has got to be tried!! So I decided to give in to my impulse side and give it a go!

COMPANY HISTORY
--------------------------------

Nivea was born in 1911and combined the works of 3 German men, Oskar Troplowitz, Isaac Lifschutz and Paul Unna. They invented the first long lasting skin cream and named it "Nivea" which in latin is "Nivus" meaning snow white.
In the 1930's the brand was given a facelift and they also came out with their first suncream along with a 2 weekly weather calendar! More products also came out in this era including shaving cream & shampoo. The war years were very bad for the nivea brand even though they tried to distance themselves from the Nazi image of Germany at the time the brand was snubbed by most countries that were fighting Germany at the time.
By the 1950's the nivea brand was back on the up and enjoying the new interest in women's fashion. The 60's saw a revolution in skincare and a tan was a must and nivea was still keeping up with the trends with good advertising and marketing. Even with more and more competition nivea still stand by their core product and though the packaging changes the high quality brand stays the same.

PRODUCT STATEMENT
-------------------------------------

A revitalising shower cream with caring Bamboo milk let the delicious fruity scent of orange blossom stimulate your senses, while the silky shower cream with caring bamboo milk leaves your skin feeling beautifully soft and smooth. Relax and rejuvenate with every shower.

PACKAGING
-------------------

This comes in a 250ml white plastic bottle; this is sort of shaped like a teardrop and flatish with the Nivea logo on the front and then “Happy Time” Then a sort of orange and white flowing picture. The lid is the usual flip top that is light blue frosted and usually always gets messy. It also states that it is PH skin-balanced and dermatologically approved.

USING
----------

When you first open the bottle you get a lovely scent of oranges, it is not overpowering and doesn’t get sickly, can’t say that I can smell the bamboo milk at all. The cream comes out of the bottle with a good squeeze and is white in colour and feels a bit slimy but I use it on my puff thingy. The really good thing about this is it lathers up really well and you don’t need to use loads at one time to get a good wash. It is also easy to rinse of and doesn’t feel slimy on the skin, the scent does linger a bit on the skin after you dry although it is subtle but it does make you feel clean. I do have slightly sensitive skin and can be prone to dry patches but I haven’t noticed any problems since using this product.

Good review. Even better when a product is not tested on animals.
