WHAT IS IT?
This is body lotion that is made by Nivea. There is shea butter in it for extra moisture and I think that is a very good ingredient to add to it because the body lotion is soft and moisturising but it feels gentle on the skin also.
WHAT I THINK
I like this body lotion very much, it is moisturising and smells very beautiful as I am using it. The smell does not last for very long and even though I like it I am happy about that because it is a rich smell and if it stayed on my skin for longer then I think it would mess with the fragrance of my perfume.
This body lotion sinks into my skin fast and I can use it in the morning and dress straight after applying it.
It is an effective body lotion on my normal skin but it is not strong enough for where I have dry areas of skin like on my elbows. I have used it when my skin is sensitive and even though it has got quite a strong smell it doesn't not affect my skin badly.
This body lotion makes my skin soft and very smooth, it is pleasing to use and I can feel that it works good. I have been using it for 2 weeks now and I am in shock that my skin is in such good condition because this is a lot cheaper than the body lotion I was using before but it is just as effective.
A bottle of this Nivea body lotion costs about £4 and I think that is value because it is nice to use and the results I have had have been very good.
4 Dooyoo Hearts.
I never need to buy body lotion. It is something that seems to come by the bottle load at Christmas or my birthday in various gift sets.
One that I got in a gift set earlier this year is a 250ml bottle of Nivea's Irresistibly Smooth body lotion.
~ Packaging ~
It comes in a pearly blue/purple plastic bottle, which curves on one side.
The words, 'Nivea Irresistibly Smooth body lotion' are written in large letters across the front then underneath in smaller letters, 'Moisturises, softens & smoothes Shea Butter Normal - dry skin'.
The bottle is fairly plain and simple in design, but I don't mind that.
It has a flip cap lid, which is easy to open .
~ In use ~
The body lotion is white in colour and is quite thin and runny making it very easy to rub in.
It has a pleasant clean scent, which I like and it lingers on your skin for a little while after using this body lotion.
I usually apply this body lotion after showering and I find that it sinks into my skin quickly and easily and it leaves my skin feeling really soft, moisturised and smooth.
My skin feels hydrated and I don't notice any dryness in between applications.
There is no residue or stickiness left behind after using this body lotion.
I don't need to use much of this body lotion to get a good coverage on my skin so I have found that the bottle has lasted me quite a while.
It feels like it is of good quality. I often find that I prefer to use body lotions by the likes of Nivea and Dove rather than by the body lotions by more expensive brands that you get in gift sets alongside the matching fragrance.
~ Price and availability ~
This body lotion is available from Boots or online at www.boots.com for £1.52 for a 75ml bottle or £3.56 for a 250ml bottle.
It is also available from Superdrug, Wilkinsons and most supermarkets.
~ Conclusion ~
I really like this body lotion. It has a clean, pleasant scent to it and it leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth and hydrated until the next time I use it.
I have a few body lotions to use up after this one so I don't think I will be buying it again as soon as I run out, but if I ever ran out of body lotion this is one I would consider using again.
It is reasonably priced and good quality.
heaters come on in the flat and I end up with dried out flaky skin. That's not such a great look but most of the time my legs are covered in winter woolly tights, leggings and knee high boots. I still like to moisturise after a shower of bath though and now I buy Nivea irresistibly smooth body lotion because it suits my skin and it gives it loads of extra nourishment and moisture, which my skin greatly lacks at this time of the year.
The bottle is really pretty and this is what attracted me to it first off. The colour is pale lilac and I expected the lotion to smell of violets or lilac but it doesn't smell of anything at all so this was a little bit disappointing when I first began to use it. It only costs £1 from Poundland though and the bottle is large at 250ml and so it lasts me for ages. One of these size bottles will easily last me about 2 months.
The lotions is white and medium thickness and it's absorbed pretty fast into my skin and I use it all over my body apart from my face and my back (which I can't reach anyway). It contains shea butter and added vitamin E which is meant to be extra good for the skin and I like the way it makes my skin feel smoother after I have used it and the moisturisation goes on for hours after it's been applied.
The only thing I don't much like about it is that it seems to take an age to dry off properly so I end up walking about with my legs apart and my arms out to the sides to make it speed up. I've realised though that if I stand in front of my large desk fan on number three setting that it speeds it up (even if I am left feeling a bit chilly afterwards).
I still love this body moisturiser, even though it takes a long time to dry and I love the way it makes my skin feel.
I recommend it.
As I have said before I usually get lots of different beauty gift sets, bubble bath etc for Christmas and for my birthday every year so I usually have a little stash to work through throughout the year!
This body lotion was out of a set my sister in law bought me, I tend to use shower gels quickly and then am left with body lotions. I probably don't get the best out of the products not using the set together but maybe next time!
== Packaging ==
The lotion is inside a bluey/mauve coloured plastic bottle with a flip top lid. It has the Nivea logo in blue and white as seen above. The one I have has a blue box at the bottom which says Normal-Dry Skin. On the back of the bottle the label lists the ingredients and some of the selling points of the lotion.
The label on the back tells the reader that it is an indulgent formula enriched with shea butter which provides irresistible skin smoothness, it also promotes a non-stop moisture supply from within the skin.
This is the 250ml bottle.
== Price and Availability ==
This is available from some supermarkets and places like Boots. At the moment in Boots it is priced at £2.37 for a 250ml bottle.
== Using the Product ==
It is recommended that you use this product daily to see the full effects. I don't always remember to use it EVERY day. I tend to use it after I have had a shower in the morning, I tend to quickly apply it all over. It is important for me to have a moisturiser that absorbs into the skin quickly so I can get dressed and chase after the kids!
The liquid comes out of the bottle quickly, I tend to tip it up slightly first so I don't squeeze hard and then waste it. It is white in colour and smells like something I would use to cleanse my face, it reminds me of a hand cream smell! (sorry that is not very descriptive).
It is absorbed into my skin quickly so I can get dressed and doesn't feel sticky. My skin feels soft and moisturised after it has dried, and almost has a healthy sheen to it. My hands especially are really dry so this makes them look much better.
== Summary ==
I do like this body lotion, it has made a difference to my dry skin. I think I will save it for the summer when my bare legs see the sunshine! It might make them look better. I would recommend this body lotion, especially if you have dry skin.
Thanks for reading.
I really like Nivea as a skincare range and I have used a lot of different things from this range for my body and face over the years. One of the more effective body lotions I have used in the past has been their irresistibly smooth body lotion. This comes in a 250ml sized bottle (I have about a quarter of the bottle still left) and the bottle is a rather pretty light lilac in colour and made of plastic. It's slightly bendy and flexible, which allows me to be able to get the lotion out easily without having to shake it all about like a bottle of Ketchup.
This body lotion contains (Amongst other ingredients) Ginkgo Extract, Shea Butter, and Vitamin E. It's designed for 'normal' skin though as the main reason I use a body lotion is due to having quite dry skin, I found this a little bit odd when I first read it on the bottle. The bottle also claims that this lotion will give the user 24 hour moisturisation, so, in other words, it just keeps your skin hydrated until you use it again the next day, and so on.
I've had the remains of this bottle of lotion in my cupboard now for over six months and when I used it again the other night I did remark to myself that it seems to have changed in consistency to when I first used it. When this bottle was new, I am sure the lotion seemed to be thicker. I am unsure if it's changed due to being 'older' but it was definitely runnier when I came to use it again the other night, for the purposes of this review. The lotion is white in colour and virtually odourless, which is a bit of a shame, as I like a lotion for my body to have at least some smell.
The lotion is easy to apply and sinks into the skin well. Using it again the other night, however, it did run down my legs quite fast, and I am sure it didn't do this the first time I used this lotion. It is absorbed well into the skin and dries quickly and it does make my skin feel soft and 'plumped' after use.
It's not the best moisturiser in the world, however, and my skin did start to look dried out again by the following day, so I can't really agree that it lives up to its claim to give 24 hour moisturisation. The bottle only cost £2.50 at the time, so it's not like it was hugely expensive.
Overall, it's a decent enough moisturiser but sadly it doesn't live up to its claims, it lacks fragrance and it also goes runny if it's left standing for a few months.
I give it 3 out of 5 stars.
This is a review of Nivea irresistibly smooth body lotion which I have been using from my ridiculously large stash of toiletries. Every Christmas my MIL buys me a massive bag of toiletries from AVON and things that have been on offer in the supermarket and they tend to last the year out and beyond.
The bottle is 250ml and states that it is for normal skin. It is an attractive violet blue colour and made of plastic. The bottle is shaped on one side slightly which makes it easy to grip hold of.
The bottle is marked with a 24h logo to imply continuous moisture for your skin. The ingredients include Ginkgo Extract, Shea Butter, and Vitamin E which provides the perfect combination for beautiful silky smooth skin that is simply irresistible.
I found the product to be really quite thin compared to other body lotions but I quite like this as if I want a thick body lotion, I'll use a body butter. It was easy to squeeze a blob from the tube and a little bit of lotion went a long way. It sank into my skin within minutes which is good as I don't tend to have time to wait for this to happen! I didn't think that it had a particularly noticeable smell to it but I do like a neutral body lotion that doesn't interfere with my perfume.
My skin definitely felt silky and smooth after using this product which I think was down the shea butter ingredient. I can tell that my 250 ml bottle will last ages as well as it was a very economical product, using it on my arms, legs and torso.
Did it live up to the claim?
I did find that my legs felt nice and smooth for the next day or so but to keep up this results you do need to keep using this lotion! I think it is a nice daily use product and it is quick to rub on and sink in so you can get on with your day.
Price and availability
A 250 ml bottle of this currently costs £2.56 in Boots but it is also on offer at the moment under a 3 for 2 promotion (top to toe summer products) so it's worth looking out for when on offer.
I would recommend this Nivea body lotion, it seems to have a nice mixture of ingredients and suited my skin well. Would I repurchase? Yes probably but I would make sure it was on offer when I bough it. I don't need to buy any more body lotions this year due to what I have in the stash but if I saw this at an irresistible price I would probably buy a couple more!
I quite like Nivea products and they're very popular with an ever-expanding range to choose from. I bought this when it was on offer and have found it to be a very moisturising lotion that's pleasant to use and great if you want to soften up your skin ready for summer.
Nivea's Irresistibly Smooth lotion comes in a curvy, almost pearlescent lavender purple bottle with the Nivea logo clearly visible and recognisable. It's got a lift up lid and tells up on the front that this is for a 'smooth sensation' and lasts for up to 24 hours. The variant I bought was Shea Butter designed for normal skin. It claims that it 'intensively moisturises your skin' whilst living a '24 hour irresistibly smooth skin feeling', which is what I was looking for.
How does it achieve smooth skin? It does this through a nourishing formula of shea butter, vitamin E and ginkgo extract, which together smooths and softens skin. A lot of lotions claim to do this, but the main differences seem to be in how quickly they absorb, how long the moisturising lasts, whether it irritates and how pleasant it is to use.
This comes out as a white lotion of medium consistency; it's not too runny that it takes ages to absorb, but it's not too thick that it feels heavy on skin. It has a pleasant scent that's fairly sweet and reminds me of vitamin E and shea butter. When smoothed over skin, it's not too heavily fragranced, but it just leaves a nice scent that's calming and feminine. I like that this is really pleasant to use, so above just achieving smoother skin, it feels like your taking some time out to pamper yourself.
I find that this absorbs fairly quickly and that you don't need to use a great deal each time, so the bottle is lasting me quite well. Because it has a good consistency, it's easy to smooth on, to sink in and it gets to work quickly. Aside from the pretty scent, it does seem to make my skin feel a fair bit more silky smooth and nourished, and I've not noticed any irritation from it when some products can do that as I can sometimes have somewhat sensitive skin.
It is recommended that for optimal results this should be applied daily. It's suitable for all over body use and it's dermatologically approved which is good for peace of mind that this is a gentle product.
Overall, I would recommend this, especially if on offer. It's lovely to use and leaves skin feeling hydrated, smooth and cared for.
250ml £3.56 or a smaller 75ml for £1.52 (Boots)
I enjoy using products from the Nivea range, as it's a brand I trust and I like testing out their new products as well! They often have very good offers on in Superdrug, Asda and boots so it is worth checking it out.
First of all, let me just let you know that I do have sensitive skin, so obviously it is important for me to choose a cream that will be nourishing as well as keep calm. The bottle comes in a lovely shape, nice and smooth with a curve and is a great light blue colour. It is around £3.50 or less if you find a good offer and that is for 250ml, which does last for a long time. Around 3/4 months if it used quite often.
The body lotion is very soft and does smell good! It is a white cream and intensively moisturises the skin so at first it can seem a bit like it sits on top of the skin, but it just needs rubbing in well. It claims to give softness and moisture for up to 24 hours, but I didn't find it was quite this long. But definitely a good few hours and if done before bedtime you do still feel nice and soft in the morning. It feels lovely on legs and feet too.
It includes shea butter which smells lovely and this is the ingredient which gives the cream the softness is has. It also includes vitamin E.
It's a lovely product!
I was given this body lotion as part of a gift set for Christmas, and I'm always grateful to receive such products because I use them often and it allows me to try new things as well as not having to buy them for a while. I've been using this on and off amongst other body lotions since Christmas, you know what it's like when you receive presents - you have to try them all out rather than waiting till the one you're using has run out!
This body lotion comes in a dark blue bottle as pictured above. On the bottle we are told that it provides 24 hour moisturisation, which is a strong claim, and it states it is suitable for people with normal to dry skin. It contains shea butter, which moisturises, softens and smoothes. The bottle is a nice shape which I wouldn't usually notice but it makes it comfortable to hold in your hand. It has a flip lid and the body lotion itself is white, as you'd expect.
The first thing I noticed about this body lotion is the smell. I remember using Nivea moisturiser when I was a teenager, as it was the first one my mum introduced me to when she taught me about getting into good skincare routines. I find this body lotion smells just like the old thick Nivea moisturiser, and it's a smell that reminds me of old people. I might sound harsh saying that, but I used to volunteer in a nursing home and Nivea was the moisturiser of choice amongst the old ladies, so it's just an association I have with the brand.
So, how does the product absorb? I must admit it glides onto the skin rather nicely, and I didn't feel like I had to wait for ages for it to be absorbed. It sunk in quite well and didn't feel sticky when I put my clothes on. The only problem was that for a little while after getting dressed, I could still smell the body lotion and felt like I smelt like an old lady!
As for the claims about moisturising for 24 hours, I noticed my skin stayed soft and didn't go dry or flaky by the following day. I get very dry skin in winter, particularly on my legs and arms, but this body lotion does seem to keep your skin hydrated for a good day or so.
The body lotion was given to me as a gift, however checking on the Boots website, if you bought it for yourself you can expect to pay £3.56 for a 250ml bottle. I probably won't buy this again, purely because I find the smell really offputting. But that's just personal opinion and if you don't mind the smell this is a not too expensive way of moisturising your skin. I give this product four stars, because if you forget about the old fashioned fragrance, it does actually do what you expect it to in terms of moisturisation.
Today I am reviewing the Nivea, irresistably smooth body lotion. I got this lotion actually for free as there was a code on a roses box to have a treat from either nivea or some restaurants and lucky for me, I got this nivea body lotion!!
It is packaged in a 250ml blue/mauve bottle, it normally retails for £3.56. It tells you that it gives your skin a ' Smooth Sensation for 24 hrs' and that it is for normal skin and has a shea butter scent. The product comes out of a flip top cap which is nice and I prefer this style of packaging to tubs as it is more sanitary.
The product is easy to get out, you just sueeze the bottle and the product comes ouit nicely. Depending how full your bottle is, it might come out quite quickly, so be careful !! The consistency is nice, not too runny but it is not thick like a body butter which is nice if you prefer thinner consistency lotions.
The actual lotion makes my skin really moisturised and really well nourished. Generally I use this on my legs after shaving and it really locks in the moisture nicely.
This is a great lotion for such a great price, a really nice product from nivea !!
