Advantages: Beautiful smell
Disadvantages: Wouldn't want to drop the bottle
I usually use spray on deodorant but after getting fed up of white marks on my tops and nearly choking on the fumes due to being a bit liberal with the spraying I decided I would try a roll on. I'd never really liked the idea of them as I thought they didn't seem very hygienic but decided to give them a go.
My first encounter with a Tesco own brand converted me but the smell wasn't very nice so whilst browsing the shelves I spotted Nivea 'Pearl Beauty' on offer at only 20p more than Tesco's own brand so I decided to give it a go.
The deodorant itself is a pearly white colour and is encased in a thick glass bottle. I think this packaging gives it a luxurious feel and it was this combined with the pretty pink and blue packaging that made it really catch my eye. The only problem with this is I am so scared of dropping it on, say a tiled floor as I'm sure it would shatter leaving glass shards of liquid everywhere!
The deodorant itself glides on easily, leaving your skin with a slight sheen, presumably due to the 'pearl extracts' it's said to contain. I was worried that this would leave a mark on my top but it dried quickly and there were no marks to be seen.
The smell is the best attribute of this deodorant - it is florally and light - very feminine. I could smell it a good few hours after applying it which is better than smelling nothing and certainly better than smelling of sweat!
I'm not really a heavy perspirer but I do work in a busy restaurant and have been known to have to help out in a hot kitchen on a Saturday night so I think if it can stand up to that then it does a pretty good job!
It claims to be 'mild care,' has been dermatologically tested and contains no alcohol or colours.
A 50ml roll on bottle currently costs £1 in Tesco's .
