WHAT IS IT?
Body lotion from Nivea that is supposed to be a more natural and gentle product to use on the skin of your body.
HOW DO YOU USE IT?
You can use this lotion all over your body, it is very light so you can use it as often as you need to. I like that I can rub it in so quick and that it is not greasy also because that makes it a very pleasing body lotion to use.
WHAT I THINK
I do not think this body lotion is very effective and even though I used it for nearly a month I could not feel that it moisturised by skin better than other lotions. It spreads easy on my skin and that made it feel very light but it does not do very much for dry skin even though it is ok for normal body skin moisturising after I have washed in the morning. The smell is very natural and I think that this body lotion smells of a creamy body product without any perfume added, that would make it kind to the skin but I do not think this is a very natural product and it does not feel very pure to use.
I do not think it improves my skin at all when it is dry but would be better to use in the summer I think as a light body lotion instead of one that is going to do a lot for my skin. I do not think Nivea should be so complimenting about it because it does not work as good as they say it does on the bottle and it is such a thin body lotion that I would not think for it to be as moisturising as they say.
It makes my skin feel soft and smooth and I am happy for that but I am disappointed that it does not do more.
Nivea Pure & Natural body lotion costs about £3 and I will not buy it again because I do not think it is effective enough.
3 Dooyoo Stars.
I was recently shopping in my local Wilkinsons when I found a bottle of this body lotion in the reduced section. It was being sold at the crazy price of 10p, reduced from £3.48 and I thought at that price I couldn't afford to miss out! Although I have used Nivea cream before and had good experiences with it I had never used this particular variety of lotion.
This product comes in a 250ml bottle which has a wave-like shape to it and a flip lid at the top of the bottle. The bottle is white and can be recycled. There are several labels on the bottle - one simply says "light texture". The label on the front of the bottle shows the bold Nivea logo and the name of the product which is "Pure and Natural". This name is illustrated by the picture of a dew covered leaf. There is also a little stamp near this picture which proclaims "95% of natural origin". It is marked as containing Bio Argan Oil and says it is suitable for normal to dry skin. The label on the back of the bottle gives full ingredients and there is also a panel which reads "no parabens, no colourants, no silicones, no mineral oils".
I have always been a greenie so I really liked the sound of this body lotion and hoped it would be effective. When I first used the lotion I was surprised by how light in texture it was yet how moiturising it was when applied to the skin. Normally with thinner or lighter lotions you tend to feel less moisturised but this isn't the case with this lotion. The lotion is a creamy, flowing white liquid which is very easy to rub into the skin. It dries quite quickly - seeming to absorb into the skin and transform it. It isn't at all heavy or thick on the skin. I suffer from dry skin on the back of my hands, my feet underneath and sometimes on my knees and calfs. When I apply the lotion it instantly makes flaky, dry, stubbly skin into soft, touchable skin. On areas of my body where there is skin I consider to be of a 'normal' condition I am also transformed. The skin here looks peachy and healthier.
The lotion has a lovely fragrance too. It's quite a mild scent but it's like flowers and grassy meadows. It is a little bit similar to orange blossom. It makes me feel ladylike and fresh as the fragrance stays on your skin after applying.
The lotion keeps you moisturised through the day and is a great product to use all over the body but also just as a hand cream to soften up your skin if you are constantly having to use them or wash them. As I said, this lotion is lightweight and often the lighter lotions can only be used in the summer time but this is an all year product without a doubt. It's doing wonders for my winter ravaged skin!
This is a marvellous body lotion from Nivea and makes me realise that the brand are keeping up to date and challenging their brand rivals. In terms of similarity this Pure and Natural Body Lotion is a little bit like the Jergens range but priced more competitively. I totally reccommend this to any ladies - it's a little too floral/fruity smelling to appeal to men.
I always knew I owned a lot of beauty products - too many in fact - but it was only when I moved house recently that I realised the full extent of my 'collection'. I have not been brave enough to go through everything and count, but let's just say I could open my own branch of Boots...in every major UK city! One of my new years resolutions (I made about 20 so there is a higher probability that I might actually stick to one) is to use it all up. One of the things I seem to own a huge amount of are body lotions, so I have been making a conscious effort to apply them every day. I've been alternating them, but the one I used this morning, was the Nivea Pure and Natural body lotion.
I was given this lotion by my sister. I had used the Nivea Light Touch body lotion a few months ago and really liked it, so I was pleased to receive this. The lotion is of 95% natural origins and for normal-dry skin, which I think describes my skin type well. The lotion contains no parabens, no colourants, no silicones and no mineral oils. They seem to quite heavily promote the fact it contains Bio Argan oil on the bottle and having done a bit of research (by that I mean typed 'bio argan oil' into Google) it seems that it is an oil rich in fatty acids, which softens the skin, reduce wrinkles, improve elasticity and even heal scars. Given all that, this lotion should be a little miracle worker.
The bottle this comes in is very similar to the Nivea Light Touch body lotion which I previously mentioned, so presumably the shape - curved on one side - is common to the Nivea range. The bottle has a flip top lid which snaps open and closed easily and the plastic of the bottle is sturdy, yet easily squeezed.
The lotion is white in colour and although it's not runny it does have a fairly light texture to it. The lotion spreads quite thinly, so only a small amount is required per application. The first time I used this I was way too generous and applied so much that it wouldn't sink in properly. Now I am quite cautious with it, applying only a small amount at a time and only adding more if I need to.
The smell of the lotion is light and pleasant, though not particularly remarkable. It has quite a natural leafy scent to it and is fairly gentle, so the fragrance doesn't interfere with any perfumes I apply over the top of it.
The lotion sinks into my skin fairly quickly, so I am able to get dressed without fear of my clothes sticking to me. That said, it does leave a very slight tackiness to my skin for an hour or so after application. It's an odd feeling and difficult to describe, but it's more a minor niggle than anything else, I barely notice it, but it is definitely there.
In terms of moisturisation I feel that this lotion does the job well. I get dry patches on my elbows and knees and they are noticeably softer and more hydrated after using this. I do have patches of eczema and although I know I'm naughty for using fragranced products on them, I have used this lotion and suffered no reaction - if anything it has reduced itching by moisturising the skin.
As I did not purchase this lotion myself I had to look online to see how much it cost. I had expected the 250ml bottle my sister gave me would have cost around the £4-£5 mark, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that 250mls of this lotion can be picked up for just £2 in ASDA. I think that's a real bargain as it's a nice quality product and it lasts well as you only need a small amount per use. Of course prices vary depending where you shop and Superdrug are charging £3.49 for this, so it does pay to look around. Please note, the bottle should be used up within 12 months of opening.
Overall, I've been really pleased with this lotion. As I mentioned, I own quite a lot of body lotions and creams, but this particular one is great for when I want a light lotion, that moisturises well and is not too heavily perfumed. I would definitely recommend this and would be happy to purchase another bottle of it - if ever I get to the end of all my other body lotions that is!
