      LOVE IT!

Nivea is a well known beauty brand which offers affordable products for all ages. *Product* Here we have the Nivea SOS Relief Body Lotion. This body lotion has been designed to provide instant relief and moisturisation to very dry skin. The body lotion contains panthenol to soothe skin and calendula oil to soften skin. The calendula oil also works to restore the skins moisture balance and avoid further moisture loss. Nivea advise that this lotion should provide 24hr moisturisation and leave the skin feeling intesively nourished and comforted throughout the day. The body lotion is dermatologically approved allowing it to be suitable for all skins. *Packaging* The body lotion comes in a tall plastic tube which can be recycled. There is a convenient flip top cap at the bottom which houses a reasonable sized dispensing hole. The tube is smooth and a creamy wide shade. The writing is in blue. The Nivea logo and product name is on the front along with advising it is for very dry skin. The back of the tube has the blurb about the product, ingredients and how to contact Nivea. Once opened, the body lotion is safe to use for 12months. *The Lotion* Squeezing the lotion out the tube, it comes out pure white and of a medium consistency. It isn't runny that it runs off your skin but not too thick that it will be difficult to massage into skin. *Ingredients* Aqua,Paraffinum Liquidum ,Glycerin ,Glyceryl Glucoside ,C12-25 Alkyl Benzoate ,C13-16 Isoparaffin ,Cetearyl Isononanoate ,Cyclomethicone ,Polyglyceryl-3 Distearate ,Cetearyl Alcohol ,Panthenol ,Calendula Officinalis ,Tocopheryl Acetate ,Butyrospermum Parkii ,Glycine Soja ,Sorbitan Stearate ,Cera Microcristallina ,Hydrogenated Coco-Glycerides ,Dimethicone ,Myristyl Alcohol ,Sodium Carbomer ,Phenoxyethanol ,Methylparaben ,Propylparaben ,Parfum *Using* Use like any other body lotion, smooth onto skin. I suppose this has rubbed off on me from my Mum as all through my childhood, the Nivea brand was one my Mum used. I spotted this in the clearance section at Boots a few months ago at £1.23! Bargain as it is now £4.99 in there! I have very dry and sensitive skin. I have these awful red spots on my arms since I was a baby and they flare up into redness sometimes which can be embarressing as I like to wear sleeveless tops. I craved some much needed moisturising! I had a wee search online for some information on calendula oil. It is known for its anti inflammotory properties and has the ability to provide suppleness to skin. This sounds excellent to me so lets get cracking. After my bath, I got dried and decided to try out my new lotion. Popping open the handy flip lid, the scent is sweet and delicate. I decided to try this on my arms first as they are the most sensitive and if I was going to have a reaction, it would be there. The lotion comes out in the tube nicely and is a reasonable consistency. It is cooling and easy to smooth into my skin. The lotion spreads well and does take a while to massage in and absorb fully. It may be all in my mind but I really do feel that the lotion is going deep into my skin and giving it a full moisturising experience. Personally I feel the best thing about this (despite the feeling and result) is the scent. WOW this is beautiful. The lotion is delicately scented with what I think of as a sweet sun lotion. It reminds me of being on holiday but with a slight sweet kick. The scent is long lasting and is still evident for aslong as my skin is soft. As for the 24hour moisturising, I would say this is almost true. I applied this in the morning and even before bed, my skin still felt very soft and supple and the scent is still there. The dry skin around my elbow area has improved. The redness has been reduced and this is a major improvement. I have been using this on a regular basis now and alternating it with my body butters. I have extended my use to my legs and stomach area. The results are impressive and the claims are true. At £4.99 for 200ml this is reasonable and although I have yet to need a new tube, I will not hesitate to buy another tube at full price. Recently I used this after getting burnt a little in the sun and can safely confirm that the lotion soothed my sore and tight skin and kept it from peeling which is amazing! I highly recommend this wonderful lotion. Thanks for reading!
