Advantages: Improves dry skin and eczema fast. Suitable for all ages.

Disadvantages: Rather expensive

My daughter has very dry skin on her arms and legs. It's not eczema, but very dry and itchy. I had tried lots of different baby mositurising creams, but found that none of them were strong enough for her. Then I tried the Oilatum bath, and found it brilliant. It improved the condition of her skin after only one bath, and she was a lot happy. However, my daughter has a terrible habit of drinking the bath water! We sit right by her when she is in the bath, of course, but still she licks and drinks the water, before you can stop her, (I think she might have been watching our cats too closely!) With other bubble baths in the water, all she gets is a soapy taste, but I was rather worried if she did it with the Oilatum in the bath. However, now Oilatum are doing a new cream, so I've changed to that.

Oilatum Junior Cream is made with the same formula as the bath, so it works just as well on dry skin. It also says it leaves a protective barrier on the skin to stop future drying. This is great for my daughter, as I think her skin problems are partly caused by living in the dry atmosphere that central heating causes. As it's a cream it is quicker and easier to use than the bath. When her skin is particularly dry I use it morning and night, while if I was using the bath formula, it would only be once a day. As with the bath formula, the junior cream is suitable for eczema, and can be used on babies as well as children.

The only downside to the cream is, like Oilatum bath, quite expensive. However the tube is big, and will last me a long time, as the arms and legs it's being put on are quite small!

Thank you for this opinion, I didn't know that this cream existed. My 2.5 year old daughter has eczema around her mouth, all the doctor has suggested is a barrier like E45 or Vaseline, which hasn't helped at all. I will certainly give this a try, thanks a lot!
