Advantages: Gets rid of flaky skin

Disadvantages: Awful hair

I don’t suffer from serious scalp problems, but now and again I do sometimes get an itchy flaky scalp.
I always use Pantene as my main shampoo, but now and again I do have a change. Perhaps that is why sometimes I get an itchy flaky scalp. Who knows.
I was telling my friend about my problem and he suggested I try Oilatum.
After he told me the price. I got up off the floor, it is very expensive but I thought what the hell. Oilatum Scalp Treatment Shampoo is £7.99
For a 100ml bottle. Now you get up off the floor. You can buy it from most large chemists and stores.

It is supposed to be a clear shampoo, but to me it looks like a pale lemon juice colour. It smells quite nice, a fresh smell neither sickly sweet /sour or medicated. So it is ideal for men and women.
It has an anti-fungal agent to treat dandruff, and itching flaky scalps.
It doesn’t have any colour or preservatives in it.

How to use it:
Wet your hair, put the same amount of shampoo on your hair, just like you do with ordinary shampoo and massage it gently all over your head. Leave on for 3-5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly, and repeat if necessary.
Use it twice a week for two weeks and after that just use it once a week.

What’s in it.
Aqua, sodium laureth sulphate, cocamidopropyl betaine, polysorbate 80, cocamide DEA, hexylene glycol, ciclopirox olamine, oleyl alcohol, citric acid, disodium phosphate, polyquaternium 10, parfum (+sodium hydroxide)

Who makes it.
Stiefel Laboratories Ltd.
Wooburn Green
Bucks.
HP10 OAU

The usual warnings.
For external use only, As with all shampoos, avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. If irritation persists, consult a doctor. Do not use if you have a known sensitivity to any of the ingredients in this shampoo.

Right how did I find it. Was it good for me.

My friend who recommended it, is what I call a
skinhead to the younger generation he may have a grade. So I don’t suppose he can feel the texture of his hair.

I myself have got shoulder length hair. As soon as I had done the final rinse I knew I wouldn’t be able to get the comb through my hair without using conditioner.
So I did use conditioner. When I had dried my hair it looked fluffy and felt very dry.

I must admit after a few washes it did get rid of the dry flaky itchy bits.
It also ruined my hair. I think it stripped it of all of it’s natural oils. I had a similar problem when I used Head & shoulders.

Would I use it again. No, I would rather have a few flaky bits now and again rather than have a head full of fluffy dry straw.

I realise that people who have serious problems such as psoriasis may find it a God send. I am describing how this shampoo worked for me.

Thanks for the read.
