Advantages: moisturises all skin types, cleanses, non greasy and easy to use
Disadvantages: beware of scratchy puffs from imitators
I am not very old, but sometimes after a LONGGGGGGGG day I feel ancient. I think we all have had days, or even weeks like that :( Usually I try unwinding with a nice mug of hot choccie, some biccies with more choccie, and a nice soak in a tub full of bath smellies. Unfortunately, about ten minutes after leaving the bath, that refreshed feeling starts to slip away. Not so with this body wash. It has a deep moisturising formula, that like other Oil of Olay products, works to mimic the body's own natural moisturisers. What you are supposed to do is wet this net like sponge called a body puff, available with the bottle if you wish to buy as a set, and put about a 10 pence sized drop of the rich creamy white fluid on it. Then rub all over your body and be amazed at the full rich lather that slithers over your skin, cleansing and refreshing your poor tired flesh. Then you rinse. You can do this in either bath or shower, as noted on the bottle. I found no difference in performance in either method. You can as I say buy the puff with a bottle of Oil of Olay Moisturising Body Wash in a starter kit, but keep an eye out as you can also get some quite good puffs seperately at chemists and other shops for as little as 59 pence and perhaps save a bit of cash. Just be sure to feel the quality of the netting however. I once purchased a puff for £1.99, thinking at that price it would be good, and the plastic was NOT soft at all and felt like a pot scouring scrubber! Out it went! The Olay provided puff has none of that harshness, and has a loop for hanging it to dry. I have washed mine on the gentle cycle in my washer to keep it sanitary, and it has lasted me a very long time (1 year). I washed it inside one of those net bags to help protect it. I will buy another stater kit when this puff finally goes just to be on the safe side as I cannot abide anything remotely scratchy next to my skin. Used with a body puff, this ph balanced and dermatologically t
ested body wash claims to give you over 60 washes from a 300ml bottle. I found this to be very conserative, lasting me in reality about 3 1/2 months! At £3.99, this is excellent value. It comes in a oblong shped white plastic bottle with a latching type flip top lid. The lid secures well enough that as you approach the very end of the bottle's contents, you can store it upside down to catch every last drop. The lid also does a fabulous job of keeping shower water and bath steam from diluting its contents, a problem I have seen with some inferior products whose lids are less than tight fitting. I have tried store's own versions of this product, and even Dove's version of this, which is good, but none beat the original. It is extremely gentle even to very sensitive skins, and was even recommended to us as a product to try on our year old daughter who suffers from eczema. She adores using it, and we have many less flare ups along her knees, elbows, and back than we used to, and have been able to dramatically reduce the amount of moisturising creams we used to have to rub on her daily. It is in this area in particular, that it has even beat out main competitor Dove in our personal trials as mentioned earlier. So, all together, good value, and you come out from your relaxing bath feeling as great as you did while soaking in the tub, with skin as soft as a baby's.
