Advantages: Soft and gentle and suitable for all skin types
Disadvantages: Have to store product upside down
I'm always on the look out for new products to try and am especially fond of Proctor and Gamble's OLAY beauty range, particularly as their products are extremely gentle on the skin.
The product I am reviewing is OLAY Complete Ultra Moisture Body Wash with shea butter.
I carried out a little research on Shea Butter as I was unaware of its' benefits and discovered that it is found in Africa and is extracted from the nuts of the Shea-Karite tree. What gives Shea Butter its' healing properties is the fatty acids contained within the nut. I discovered that Shea Butter tops cocoa butter with regards healing properties.
The body wash comes in a white plastic container with a flip top lid and the famous black OLAY writing and the logo of a golden lady is situated on the front of the container.
The product is easily dispensed from a fairly large opening on the lid and is of a thick creamy consistency. The scent of the shea butter is absolutely gorgeous and smells extremely luxurious. The wash is a soap free formula so is perfect for all skin types. Whilst the rear of the bottle doesn't advise of this, OLAY's website states that using the product will condition your skin for up to 24 hours.
I apply just a small amount of the body wash onto a dampened body polisher and gently rub the product onto my skin. The wash creates an extremely thick and plentiful lather and feels very soft and creamy.
Although the directions state this product can be used in both the bath and shower, I tend to only use it in the shower. I find the lather is too rich and creamy for use in the bath, which has resulted in me having a bath full of huge soap suds floating on the surface of the water.
I find when I use body polishers that I only need to use one application of this body wash, which is enough to wash the whole of my body. It is extremely effective in cleaning and is not harsh on the skin unlike some perfumed body washes.
After I have rinsed and towel dried, I can smell the subtle fragrance of the shea butter on my skin which always feels exceptionally soft and smooth with the scent lingering for several hours.
The great thing about this product is that on the reverse of the container the directions advise that the body wash can be used as a shaving aid as opposed to using gels and foams.
In my opinion, the manufacturers seriously need to reconsider the design of the packaging as the reverse of the bottle advises to store the bottle upside down to ease dispensing. I do not feel this looks attractive, particularly if you display bottles in your bathroom and I feel they should relocate the lid to the bottom of the container.
The bottle can be recycled after use.
A 400ml sized bottle of OLAY Complete Ultra Moisture Body Wash is available in most supermarkets and chemists and ranges between £2.99 and £3.49.
I would highly recommend this product and give it 4 out of 5 doo yoo stars. Unfortunately, it lost a star due to the poorly designed container.
I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
Summary: A luxurious smelling body wash at a reasonable price
