For too long I was stupid enough to use cheap flosses and some of them caused more trouble than benefit. Some shred in between my teeth, and also most of them caused me light bleeding. Desperate to try a better product, I came to the conclusion that I would try the Oral b satin type, which was the most expensive of the lot at Boots at 2.29 for 25meteres of floss. When I opened I was shocked. The flo...more

Premium Review Oral B Satin Floss: If you want a proper floss, read here! (337 words)

This is one of the products I review for Dooyoo which I feel very strong about. Normally I am very conscious when it comes to price and I tend to buy cheap solutions and products, but in this case I am recommending a relatively expensive product and the reason why I do it is because I think the extra cost is fully justified by the results. Dental floss is meant to be used to clean the small parts of food which remain stuck in between teeth. There are people like me who have weak gums and need to floss very regularly. The problem is that if you floss a lot you end up damaging your gums anyway. For too long I was stupid enough to use cheap flosses ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Satin is for sheets, not for floss (331 words)

I don't often award products only one star. This is partly because I think most products have some sort of redeeming feature, and partly because it just makes me feel mean! However Oral B Satin Tape is definitely an exception, as there's no way I could give it more than one star! The new Oral B Satin Tape is packaged in a light blue, semi transparent container like the one pictured above, however I have a slightly older version which is packaged in the same shape, but is an opaque white colour instead. I'm glad that they have changed the packaging as not being able to see how much floss is left is one of the many annoying things about my floss. The ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Oral B Satin Floss: Sorry, did you say 'satin'? (235 words)

Having used another brand of floss and been more than happy with it, it may seem surprising that I decided to give this one a go instead. In fact, I wish I hadn't bothered! My teeth are very close together, so this floss should be ideal for sliding between them without breaking, and in this at least, it is pretty effective. The price is also fairly reasonable- I bought mine for £1.76 in Boots, and there was a 3 for 2 offer on at the time, as there often is on many of the products. However, this was for 25m instead of the standard 50m of other brands, so this made it somewhat less good value. The real problem I have with this stuff is the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Only for the sophisticated (246 words)

This is in my opinion one of the better dental tapes on the market - especially for those who have relatively tight spaces between their teeth. The tape is wide enough for easy handling and it's one of those tapes that won't let you end up with lots of gummy wax on your fingers. I have always felt that my teeth are super clean after using this, as I would recommend it as it does help get all the gunky sticky plaque out of the hard to reach places under the gumline. However, at times, I have felt that being heavy handed with this floss can be brutal on your gums - so please do not use unless you are quite advanced with your technique in using floss. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Oral B Satin Floss: Squeaky Clean Teeth? (220 words)

Oral B is a well known leader in the dental market and when i saw their floss in Tesco i decided to buy it. It was on offer and cost £1 for a packet. It is a mint flavoured floss and when i started using it i found this a little overpowering and sickening. The mint was too minty if that is possible and it left me feeling a little bit queasy. The floss feels nice in between your teeth and it seemed to be good at removing debris. I suffer from gum disease and noticed that my gums didnt bleed as much as they normally would with a cheaper floss. The pack only contained twenty five metres of floss which i thought was a bit miserable as most other packets ...  Read the complete review
