I have recently discovered the 'Original Source' range and WOW are they amazing! I've been buying bottle after bottle and constantly emptying ASDA's shelves!

I, luckily have very clear, non-sensitive, tolerant skin therefore am generally not that fussy when it comes to beauty, bath and shower products. I tend to ignore the top of the range, expensive products and keep to the basics. However, I am often on the look out for new products and will sometimes splash out on something a little bit different and interesting if I think it's worth it!

This is how I came across the 'Original Source' range. I'd seen the range before but had always seen the price and chosen to ignore it. But this day, money was not going to be an issue, I wanted something a little bit more fun for the shower! 'Original Source' products are not extortionate in price but above the basic £1.50 bottle of shower gel I'm used to.

USEFUL INFO

- Original Source have a website called www.originalsource.co.uk where you can order free sachets so you can try before you buy.
- Otherwise, shower gel bottles can be bought in 250ml, 350ml and 500ml sizes.
- A standard 250ml bottle costs around £2.50 from most supermarkets and Boots stores and is the most popular size to buy.
- The range consists of many different flavours and types:

LIME
MINT
LEMON
ORANGE
SPEARMINT
LAVENDER
ROSE

- The bottles have an easy to use handle which you attach to the bottom of the bottle so it can be hung upside down. Pump bottles are also available
- All the shower gels come in amazing colours and are quite thick in texture
- Most flavours and/or types appeal as rather appertising when you smell them
- The aim of the shower gels are to revive and refresh (which they do)
- Original Source do not test on animals and only use essential oils, not synthetic fragrances or parfum
- The Original Source company was launched in 1997 and is still going strong to this very day

LIME ESSNTIAL OIL SHOWER GEL

The bottle is transparent - therefore bright green in colour! Very appealing and catches the eye. There is a handy hook to hang up your gel and a simple squeeze of the bottle allows the right amount of gel to reach your hand. The slogan of 'Original Source' is located on the back of the bottle, 'ALL ORIGINAL SOURCE PRODUCTS CONTAIN ESSENTIAL OILS WHICH GIVE YOU A POWERFUL EXPERIENCE. NATURE.POWERFUL STUFF.IN A BOTTLE

The ingredients are also listed on the bottle which are as follows:

AQUA, SODIUM, LAURETH SULFATE, COCAMIDE DEA, CITRUS AURANTIFOLIA OIL, SODIUM CHLORIDE, LIMONEDE, PEG-150, DISTEARATE, SODIUM LACTATE, CITRAL, LAURYL BETAINE, DISODIUM EDTA, STYRENE/ACRYLATES COPOLYMER, SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE, LINALOOL, LACTIC ACID, MAGNESIUM NITRATE, MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE, METHYLCHLOROISOTHIAZOLINONE, METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE.

The bottle also makes clear that the range also consists of shave gels, bath foams, shampoos and conditioners as well as anti-perspirant deodrants and handwashes. All of which I am yet to try! However I am trying to get through the shower gels and I have so far managed this one and the mint one which I may write about at a later date.

So, the appearance of the bottle is cool but what was my first impression when using it? GREAT! The smell was fantastic, it really hits you and filled the whole room. It also really refreshes you - great to use when you wake up in the morning and also for when you are really tired! The smell really awakens your senses and gives an instant tingly effect! The lime one almost smells and tastes edible - it really gets your mouth watering and your senses going! The gel itself can foam up quite well but probably not thick enough to use as a shaving gel. However, only small amounts are needed as the gel is quite thick, which allows the bottle to last longer. After showering, my skin feels really soft and the smell is still apparant.

However, every product has its negative points like most things in life. Unfortunately the smell does not last, as soon as you leave that bathroom it's gone! You can smell your hands and arms as much as you want but I can never smell it! Therefore the smell can only be enjoyed within the shower and bathroom so make the most of it, the fragrance is not at all long lasting! Some say this shower gel burns the skin as it is so strong but it really does not. I know the mint one is very strong and you are unable to put it on certain places of the body but I can assure you this one's fine! My skin never stays that soft either. I do generally have quite dry skin but this shower gel has no moisturising properties at all unfortunately. I still need to cake myself in moisturiser after showering! I also mentioned how the gel is quite thick - but be careful as soon as water hits it - it slides off everywhere. I lose and waste most of the gel as it goes down the plug hole!

I really enjoyed using this product and am going through a phase of trying out all the varieties but as a general product, I do not think I would buy this on a regular basis. As much as the product is extremely nice and very different - apart from the experience within the shower, this product has no other extroadinary factors. I think I will continue to stick to my regular cheapie shower gel and every now and then treat myself to this little one!
