Advantages: Smells Wonderful, Revives, Cleanses

Disadvantages: Smell Doesn't Linger On The Skin, It Doesn't Moisturise

Well I'm on number 3 of my free Original Source samples and I have so far managed to avoid a trip to the emergency department. The first experience with the tea tree and mint nearly scarred me for life! lol

The latest variety to pop through my letterbox was the Pure Lime gel. The mere thought of lime conjures up refreshing images, bursts of fruit essence that will awaken the senses and leave the skin tingling (Notice how I say tingling and not burning)

I was slightly less apprehensive about using this than I was with the previous samples. I have convinced myself that it is the mint that my intimate places cannot tolerate. Without the slightest whiff of mint I decided that it was safe to experiment with my latest freebie.

The sachet was yet again a 25ml free sample that I ordered from the original source website. I must stress that you only continue to receive the free samples if you leave feedback on the website after each sample has been used. The next sample always arrives within a couple of days of feedback being left and I have had no problem with the sachets being damaged. After you leave the feedback you normally get a response via email answering any concerns you may have. When I used the tea tree and lemon variety I expressed that the gel was very thick and was just like slime. I was told that the reason for this is that with the samples being in a sachet it was safer to make the gel slightly thicker to avoid the possibility of any spillage in the post if the package was damaged. It would also be easier to squeeze out as if it was too runny you would end up with it on the shower room floor. I can see their reasons for this and I was assured that if I bought a bottle the consistency would be more fluid. If anyone has bought the 250ml bottle I would be interested to know your findings.

As I opened the lime gel it was very thick again. It is so thick that you can hold your hand upside down and it doesn?t drip off. It

is easy enough to get out of the sachet so it doesn't affect the usability. The fragrance hits you immediately and it makes your mouth water. It is a very strong lime smell, it reminds me of lime ice-lollies or limeade. As I was inhaling I was aware that I closed my eyes to savour the aroma and a smile did appear on my face. I was muttering something like mmmmmm or ahhhhhh so I must have liked it. My nostrils were definitely tingling and I was looking forward to a hot refreshing shower.

I squeezed out about half of the sachet as I usually find this is sufficient for one shower. It was quite sticky in my hands so I had to apply a little water in order to initiate the gel to lather up. I rubbed the gel over my legs and body and the smell was wonderful. It filled the whole room and at this point I thought it was the best Original Source that I tried so far. I had a chat with my doodah and after a bit of encouragement I applied the gel. I didn't even have to grit my teeth. There was no stinging just a mild tingling sensation, my doodah was happy!

It lathered up reasonably well although I would say that it isn't creamy, just foamy enough to cleanse the skin. It rinsed off well and left no sticky residue but unfortunately the smell didn't linger on my skin. As I left the bathroom I could smell it in the hallway and I would have expected to be able to smell the lime aroma on my skin for much longer. I found my sell sniffing my arms but no matter how deeply I inhaled there was no lasting fragrance.

As I was drying myself I was aware that the dry skin on my legs was still apparent. This was quite disappointing as I was hoping that the moisturising properties would be better. Maybe it is because the astringent properties of lime are more for cleansing than moisturising and I will certainly be waiting for a response when I leave feedback.

Overall I would say that while you are showering the experience is good, the sm
ell i
s wonderful and it revives and refreshes. The smell doesn't linger on your skin though and it doesn't moisturise. If you have sensitive skin it is still a good idea to test on a small area first even though only natural oils are used. Original Source is not tested on animals and I would advise you to do the same! I would recommend this product on the basis of the smell and the refreshing properties but not if you're looking to moisturise your skin.

If you don't want to apply for the free samples Original Source shower gels are available from Boots, most pharmacies and supermarkets for around £2.50 per 250ml bottle.

Congratulations on the crown and well for all your crowns you have :) - this opinion was brilliant! I don't think I fancy a lime product though :(

Goodness - all this talk of doodahs!

Just had this sample, and I enjoyed two showers with it, but the third the smell left me gagging and desperately needing fresh air for some reason. Something for the feedback, anyway!

And congrats on the crown :)

Think I'll apply for the free samples and give it a try myself. And I'll need to read your other Original Source ops to find out about the legend of the Doodah!! :)
