I suffer from perfume allergies. The problem is that it takes body warmth to bring out the allergic reaction in me. This means I have to use and wear a product before I can tell if I?m allergic to it. I can?t tell just by opening the bottle and sniffing it in the shop. This means my friends and family are constantly getting bottles of shower gel, shampoo and perfume I love but can?t use. It?s very depressing, very disappointing and rather expensive having to keep buying things you can?t use. Original Source offers free samples to test and that's perfect for me. I get to try out a product and don't waste my money buying things I can't use. The samples come in small sachets that easily tear open. Original source promises that all their shower gels will be: "A totally different concept in shower gels which encapsulates the very best of nature's pure oils to bring you the most invigorating, refreshing and totally stimulating stand-up wash you'll ever want!" So What's it like? On opening the Pure Lime the smell seemed faint until I squeezed it out of the sachet. The colour is a translucent pale yellow-green. This gel was slightly thinner than the others I've had, more like a shampoo than a "gel", but it lathered great. Really foamy. The scent once foamy was much stronger and very very limey. Slightly less sweet than the lemon gel, definitely a more stimulating scent! Lime oil is supposed to be refre
shing and rejuvenating and this gel certainly lives up to that. The smell is gorgeously limey, like drenching yourself in dissolved lime flavoured Rowntrees fruit pastilles. That's exactly what the scent is like too. Totally lime fruit pastille! It worked well as both a shampoo and a body wash. Afterwards the scent stayed on my skin after drying and that night when I undressed I still smelt good enough to eat. I guarantee if you washed with this, painted yourself lime green and rolled in sugar even Rowntrees wouldn't tell the difference! ;) This gel wasn't as astringent as the lemon. It didn't dry my skin or hair and my skin still felt soft and good at the end of the day without the need for moisturising cream. Allergy wise, how was the Pure Lime? No problems at all for me, even though the smell lingered gently on my skin. Would I buy it? Definitely! The aromatherapy guide says that lime oil: Tones the skin, Clear anxiety, Lessen apathy and mild depression, Refresh tired mind and uplift spirits. Well, it certainly made me feel really good all day. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ And on a trivial note.. limˇey n. Slang A British sailor. An English person. - 17/12/03 Oh, I love the zingy smell of lime! If I absolutely had to be a fruit pastille, though, I'd want to be a blackcurrant one. :-) |
