Advantages: Thick Gel, foams up well, softens skin, lovely smell, great quality, cheap!

Original source is an extremely environmentally friendly company that produces all types of shower and bath products. Recently they have updated their packaging and their image has really upped its popularity.
They use natural ingredients, never test their products on animals and aim to never be wasteful in anything they produce. They product and source as much as they can from the UK as we all know the effect that air travel can cause for a few berries. They also work closely with the Vegan society and are a good old member of the aromatherapy trade council! They also use essential oils or natural extracts in every single creation. Or as their slogan goes... 'Packed With Natural Stuff'.
To be honest, I didn't know any of this until browsing through some information about them. But it really has changed my view of original source and their products. I am a fan of the Body shop and Lush etc, those places that do use natural ingredients and also try to look after the community in some way via what they sell. But their prices also reflect this. However, Original Source really is as cheap as chips and are always on offer and provide a whole range of things. These people really have made me like them and I won't just be sticking to their seasonal edition. Role on summer!

* Winter - Goji and Mallow Shower Gel *

Every year Original Source produces a different winter seasonal edition shower gel. Call it a marketing ploy or pure consideration for their loyal customers, either way I couldn't help but pick it up as it tried my best to resist the temptation.
The winter 2009 edition is made using organic Goji Berries which is known as a super-fruit. In other words, it is full of anti-oxidants, macronutrients and vitamin C. This shower gel also has organic extracts from the Marsh Mallow Plant. (I have heard of marshmallow sweeties, but never the plant!). Anyhow, Marsh Mallow Plant extracts have been used for centuries to help coughs, sore throats and chapped skin. It seems it has all the ingredients to help your skin survive the harsh winter months! Along with that, it also gives the shower gel a gorgeous deep pink / purple colour and is suitable for Vegans.
The bottle itself is long and column like, with a curved edge. It has a smooth side and a rough side, so you don't lose your grip in the shower. It also stands upside down so you get every last drop. Original Source packaging really is practical but attractive. The front has WINTER in large pink letters written vertically down the bottle with tiny little snowflakes added for an extra winter feel. I bought my 250ml bottle for a bargain price of £1 from Boots. Original source is always on offer somewhere and really is a bargain. Especially after finding out so much about their products and how they are made and what's included. I think these shower gels will become a staple in my bathroom. Even when it isn't on offer, I would still buy it at £1.99.

** What is it like to use? **

The first thing I noticed was just how thick the shower gel is. It goes such a long way and foams up better then any shower gel I have used in a while. It becomes really smooth and creamy and you only need a small amount. It feels like a brilliant quality shower gel and I was so surprised. This is really similar (in packaging and style) to a recent own brand shower gel I bought and it was the same price. £1!! I have to say, this imperial Leather shower wins hands down. It leaved the skin feeling extremely clean and very soft. A complete winner.
The natural extracts of Goji berry and Marsh mallow give it an impressively warm and sweet fruity scent and almost a slight smell of vanilla. The scent bursts out of the foamy shower gel but is only very subtle on the skin. Once I was out the bathroom and dry there was only a very mild berry scent left on my skin. I cant say that this shower gel protects me from coughs and colds even though the ingredients may do if used another way. But it left my skin feeling soft and looked after. It foamed up magically and is going to last a very long time.

** Finally... Recommendation **

Even when it isn't on offer, I would still buy it at £1.99. The gorgeous smell and the great quality shower gel is really nice to use. A complete bargain and after finding more out about Original source I will definitely be using their products more often. I recommend this to everyone. (Male and female, although original source now do a men only range!) It softens the skin, and adds a bit of a burst to the bathroom and really foams up well. Don't forget it is suitable for Vegans and also uses organic products.
Although it is a seasonal edition I hope it will be around for a while. It has a scrumptious warm scent to really give you the Christmas feeling. The great quality of the gel means it will last for ages and really is worth the money.
