Advantages: Smells lovely, good price, lots of bubbles

Disadvantages: None for me

I have always been a great fan of almost all of the Original Source products and I adore the smell of lavender so Dave knew he was onto a sure bet when he bought Original Source Tea Tree and Lavender Bath Foam as a stocking filler last Christmas. The only Original Source fragrances that I don't like are the Pure Lime and Pure Lemon and Mint fragrances. These are just too strong for my liking and tend to sting in my important little places!

The container is transparent plastic (completely recycleable then) and is exactly the same as the shower gel of the same fragrance except that this one stands with the black lid at the top so that when the container is almost empty you need to stand it upside down to make sure that you get all of the bath foam out.

The container is wider at the base and tapers away from that towards the top so that the whole thing is stable when it is standing on the shelf. The black lid is a flip top design.

You just need to flip open the lid and squeeze a good amount of the bath foam into your bath under the running tap. The bubbles appear straight awy and there are plenty of them.

The fragrance is much more lavender than tea tree although the tea tree is definitely there and it lingers both in the air and on the skin for a while so it's great if you do like the smell of lavender as you keep getting a whiff of it!

The tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic and the lavender oil is good for relaxation and combating stress, and the combination of the two makes for an ideal way to start the day in a calm frame of mind or to relax and calm down at night ready for sleep.

As a bit of background information the origins of these products come from the bush remedies of a lady called Ellen Wakeman who was the daughter of missionaries living in New South Wales. She had run away from home to join the goldrush of 1857 and somehow ended up as a barber's assistant.

She soon began to discover the healing powers of the plants native to the outback and subsequently became famous for her herbal cures.

The Original Source range of today allegedly still uses some of the ingredients that were discovered by Ellen Wakeman, although how much of that is true and how much is sales hype I wouldn't like to hazard a guess!

The products do all contain natural oils rather than synthetic fragrances and are not tested on animals.

As with all products containing essential oils it is worth making sure that they are appropriate for you before you use them. For example it is not advisable to use certain oils of you're pregnant.

The Original Source bath foams are about £1.90 for a 500ml container at all the supermarkets and there are often good offers on too.

Incidentally when I was searching for the current prices I noticed that the containers now look like plastic screw top bottles so they may well have changed the packaging since Dave bought mine last year.

All in all I would recommend this bath foam if you like the smell of lavender and you like a good soak in lots of bubbles!

Summary: A lovely bath foam

Ive never tried this one on the account that I dont like Lavender. However with most of their range, Im impressed with their varities so this one sounds like a good one. Unlike their pepper & capsicum hoof.
