Advantages: relaxing, loads of bubbles
Disadvantages: Lavender smell is very strong
Original Source is not a product which I have used before but this one just looked nice on the shelf and I thought the relaxing claim it made sounded very good so I decided to give it a go.
~~THE BOTTLE~~
The bath foam comes in a clear bottle and is a cylindrical shape. There is a black screw lid which is very easy to take on and off. I think this might have benefited from a flip lid but as this is not a shower gel then it is not completely necessary as you wont have wet hands when using it. The clear bottle is a good idea as it allows the lovely purple liquid to be seen and it allows me to see how much of the product I have left.
The front of the bottle has a label with the product name and the relaxing claim in a different lighter shade of purple and the back of the bottle as has 2 smaller labels which have all of the product information.
~~USE AND RESULTS~~
When I unscrewed the lid of this bottle the first thing which I noticed was the smell. The foam claims to be lavender and tea tree but for me I can only smell the lavender. I did find it was very strong at first and decided after this that I would only use a small amount in the bath.
The bath foam is a very good consistency and is quite thick. I noticed that it did take quite a few seconds to run out of the bottle. It instantly started to make a foam when poured into the water.
I poured a small amount under the running tap and instantly it began to form bubbles. I was surprised at the amount of bubbles I got when the bath was filled as I did only use a small amount of this stuff. The bath foam did not change the water colour very much but there was a very faint purple hit to the water. The smell was very apparent for the whole time I was relaxing in the bath. Now it does claim to be relaxing but for me I am not sure if it was the foam that made me relax or if it was the relief of the peace and quiet!
When I had gotten out of the water and dried myself off I was still able to smell the lavender on my skin, it was not a strong smell like when I first poured the foam into the bath but there was definitely a hint of the lavender on my skin. I was also impressed with the way it moisturised my skin and left it feeling very soft.
Hubby did comment on me smelling nice when I came downstairs but for him the smell of lavender always reminds him of his Grandma!
~~INFO~~
The bath foam is made by Original Source and comes in a 500ml bottle. For me the bottle is a good size and it does last me well over 2 months. This is due to having so many different ones on the go at the same time. I think if you use this once or twice a week then it should last a good month.
The bath foam has not been tested on animals which for me is a bonus and original Source claim that this is made from only natural ingredients.
The ingredients of the foam for those who wish to know are:-
Aqua, Sodium Laureth, Sulfate, Lauramidopropyl Bthaine, Sodium Chloride, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf oil, Sodium Citrate, Hexylene Glycol, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, BHT, Geraniol, Linalool, CI 60730, CI 17200
It is recommended that this product is used within 18 months of being opened. It is also suitable for Vegans.
~~PRICE AND AVAILABILITY~~
I bought my bottle from Tesco on my last shopping trip and managed to get it for just £1 which for me was a great price. I have seen this in Asda but it was not as cheap as what I paid and think if I remember right it was nearer the £2 price.
~~OVERALL~~
I do recommend this bath foam as it did give me a nice relaxing bath as it claims but I would strongly recommend you use this sparingly as the smell is very overpowering.
Summary: A very strong smelling bath foam
