Advantages: Smells nice, leaves you clean, duh!!
Disadvantages: Doesn't pack the punch of the mint shower gel but otherwise fine
Another Original source gets the treatment, if you thought I was lazy the last time round, which by all accounts I wasn’t, honest….. This time I’ll try and outdo myself and go for comatose……………… ………… Ahem Where was I?? Original source, well first things first, you’ll need to know what I’m reviewing, chances are you read the top of the page and it says Original source Tea tree and Lemon shower gel that is unless I filed this in the wrong slot and you’re looking up home insurance or something. Well the first thing if you follow the formula for writing these ops is tell you all about Ellen Wakeman, apparently a Sheila with balls, if all accounts are to be believed, that would either put her in the Australian Cricket team or she is Dame Edna Everage. Take your pick. Here’s some snippage about Ms Wakeman I’ve taken from one of my other numerous ops about these products. “The bottle tells a story about Ellen Wakeman a bush herbalist from the Aussie Goldrush in 1857, who learnt her herbalism whilst working in a barbers pulling teeth and shaving whiskers. I’m not sure how true this is and quite frankly it doesn’t matter, it’s just an additional bit of guff above the lather rinse repeat instructions on the bottle.” The bottle makes for a nice waterproof read in the shower, but once you’ve read it you’ve read it. So now you want to know about the product eh?? Well as the name suggests its shower gel and it’s lemony. Bit of a given really. Does it clean you? Yes it does. I suppose I should expand a little on that, your general muck and grime comes off pretty easily and it washes your hair quite well too. It doesn’t leave behind any slimy residue and leaves the skin feeling soft as a babies bum, that is if you have a babies bum handy, if not
then it leaves it feeling pretty much the same as it went into the shower, only wetter. Does it smell nice? Yes it does if you like the smell of Lemon curd, personally I love lemon curd but I’m not sure about smelling of lemon curd. There is also a little herbal after smell of the Tea Tree oil, which isn’t unpleasant. It’s probably best to avoid picnics after showering with this unless you want to be hijacked by an army of ants. It does leave the bathroom smelling nice and fresh, if you like lemon curd of course. What does the Lemon and Tea tree do for you then? Lemon is a stimulant and tea tree has antiseptic qualities, which should be good for the skin. Now I should say that as with most of the OS products it does contain essential oils, which can aggravate delicate skins, personally I’m closer to a rhino in skin texture than a baby so it doesn’t worry me but people suffering from eczema might have a problem. Try it out on a piece of skin you don’t want to use and if it comes out in hives think of it as a learning experience and seek a doctor immediately. I suppose the main reason I’m being a little flippant about this stuff is that I’ve used the Tea Tree and Mint and the Extra Mint varieties and I was really impressed. The main reason being the mint buzz you get when you put it on your skin. Imagine the feeling you get when brushing your teeth and then apply it to where ever you want. Those of you with mucky minds will be heading straight down south and that’s hardly surprising. It is intended to wash your entire body and quite frankly the nether regions tend to require a lot of attention. The downside to the Lemon shower gel is all you get is a lemon aroma, no sensation, which is a little disappointing. I don’t suppose it makes it a bad product; it’s just not as good as the Mint varieties. Still if you want to give a whirl and get sa
chets of all the shower gels in the OS range then you can on their website. http://www.originalsource.co.uk If you want to part with cold hard cash the full range is available from Boots, Superdrug, Tesco, Sainsbury, Safeway, Co-op, Asda, Waitrose, Bentalls Group, Selfridges, Morrisons, Shoprite and Somerfield for £2.49 for a 250ml bottle and £3.99 for a 500ml bottle
