Advantages: Smells Nice, Not tested On Animals, Made From Natural Oils

Disadvantages: Over Priced, Can Sting On Sensitive Area's

I can't say that I was looking forward to my next free sample of Original Source. In fact every morning when the postman arrived I was breaking out in a sweat.

You see; I couldn't quite decide whether I would be brave enough to use the shower gel for that all over body experience. For those of you that read my op on the tea tree and mint gel you will be aware that I had a rather fiery encounter. As much as I would like a nice hunky fireman to come and hose me down I'm not sure that the husband would approve.

Taking advice from the sachet that reads ' people with sensitive skin should always test products on a small area first' I rubbed some on my little finger! What? It was about the smallest part of my body that I could think of.

What it should read is ' people with a sensitive doodah may feel like they are on fire, don't dial 999 as the sensation will subside after a couple of hours'

It was like an experiment; I carefully tore open the sachet so as not to empty the contents over by bathroom floor, I needn't have worried as the gel was very thick. So think in fact that again it was like slime, I tipped my hand upside down and the gel stuck to my hand, it didn't drip at all. It's not necessarily a bad thing but I found it difficult to lather up as it was sticking to my hand a bit. I rubbed it in between the palms of my hands and breathed in the aroma. I found this nice and it reminded me of sherbet lemons. I couldn't really smell the tea tree but I was quite happy about that. I then rubbed it on my arms and it didn't produce lather as such but it was slightly creamy on the skin. I could smell the lemon even more as I continued to apply the gel and it was very nice indeed.

I smoothed some more over my body and legs and was starting to feel really fresh and alive. I had been sorting out lots of toys and clothes for a car boot sale and felt quite sweaty and grimy. I wa

nted to feel clean and fresh and was hoping this would do the trick. I wasn't disappointed! I think the aroma went along way into making me feel refreshed, as lemon scents seem to do that.

I was getting nervous now as there was only one place left to try it, my doodah!

Shall I? Shan?t I? Shall I? Shan?t I?

Well, I couldn't do a review without doing the doodah test so hear goes,

Ooh Aah! Just a little bit, just a little bit more! I waited?.. no burning, I waited a bit longer?? a slight tingling. Not too uncomfortable but I was worried it would cause an irritation. It felt like I was walking down the road with no knickers on, (I haven't done this honest) but I could imagine what it would be like to have a cold wind blowing up your skirt. I continued in the name of consumer research and I'm happy to report that there was no long-term side affects.

As this product also contains tea tree like the mint one I can only conclude that it was the mint that caused the majority of the previous irritation.

I will let you know if I use another Original Source that contains mint.

Apart from the obvious area's to avoid if you have sensitive skin you should also avoid the eyes. I don't use it for washing my hair but you can, if you do just take care as I imagine it would sting the eyes quite badly.

Original Source bottles are available from almost everywhere and are generally see through plastic with a black lid that you can hang on the side of the shower. This particular one is and you can see the wonderful colour of the lemon gel through the bottle. The free sachets are 25ml and are enough for a couple of showers; the bottles hold 250ml. They are priced between £2-£3 but I would advise you to visit the website for the free samples first of all.

I will be giving feedback again to Original Source and it will be more favourable than last time. Overall I would recommend it
as it cleanses well and certainly revives you. The scent lingers for a few hours and it is very pleasant. I don't think it moisturises the skin as much as some other products. The Lush 'buffy the butt slayer' makes my legs (and butt) feel much more silky than this.

I would buy it if on special offer but not at full price. On the upside Original Source is made from natural oils and not synthetic fragrances, it is NOT TESTED on animals, except guinea pigs like me!
