n ~ yummy lemon Lemon and Tea very yummy and the lemon smell is sweet, Yep, the gel of Tea Tree and Lemon, Smells good enough to eat! I found myself humming that old song in the shower this morning. Blame it on the pukka power of puckerless Lemon pleasure. ( try saying THAT three times fast! ) I suffer from perfume allergies. The problem is that it takes body warmth to bring out the allergic reaction in me. This means I have to use and wear a product before I can tell if I?m allergic to it. I can?t tell just by opening the bottle and sniffing it in the shop. This means my friends and family are constantly getting bottles of shower gel, shampoo and perfume I love but can?t use. It?s very depressing, very disappointing and rather expensive having to keep buying things you can?t use. Original Source offers free samples to test and that's perfect for me. I get to try out a product and don't waste my money buying things I can't use. The samples come in small sachets that easily tear open. If you buy the gel from a shop it comes in a 250ml plastic bottle with a hook on the lid for easy hanging in the shower or you can stand it on a shelf like any normal bottle. On opening my Tea Tree and Lemon sachet the first thing that struck me was how sweet the lemon scent was. In the past my experience of lemon scented shower gels and shampoos has always been a bit on the "acidic" side. When I squeezed the gel out it was a creamy lemon colour, like lemon curd. Once on the wash cloth the smell became more intensely lemon. Original Source state that they use real ingredients and essential oils and this one was unmistakably real. I've never smelt any lemon product as close to the real thing as this. With your eyes closed you'd swear there was a fresh cut lemon under your nose. The only thing that gives it away as a perfume and not an actual newly cut lemon is that it's a little more sweet than
the usual real lemon. It's that distinctive lemon oil smell that you get from the lemon skin rather than the juice inside. The aromatherapy guide I have says this about lemon essential oil: " Excellent anti-bacterial properties, helps fight infections. Anti-toxic properties. Antiseptic, antidepressant, antispasmodic." Quite a line up of virtues! This gel didn't give a great lather, but it made up for that by being very creamy and pleasant on my skin. It lathered better as a shampoo and all-in-all I needed very little for my hair and body. Overall it was a very nice gel, not to strong a scent, very yummy lemon. The smell on my skin after drying was pleasant, but faint. It was slightly more astringent than the Mint sample I'd had before. This one left me feeling clean and fresh the whole day, but my hair did feel a bit dry and I wouldn't want to use it as a shampoo n a daily basis. Allergy wise, how was the Tea tree and Lemon? Well, for the first two mornings just about half an hour after showering I go a fit of sneezes. This is my usual sneeze-alert time. By then my body has warmed up a perfume to just the right sneezability level. After my sneezing outburst I was fine though, no ongoing hayfever. The next two times I've used it I haven't sneezed, but I have felt a niggly feeling at the back of my nose the whole morning, like I'd just sniffed something peppery. Would I buy it? Well.. the smell is lovely and my skin feels great, bot it does irritate my nose a bit so I think I'd rather give this one a miss myself. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~ On a serious note.. Original Source products are not tested on animals. The company also regularly checks its ingredient suppliers to ensure that no ingredients used have been tested on animals since the company launched in 1997. Great stuff as animal testing is not only cruel, but also
totally useless. If you bear in mind that you vet will tell you that human shampoo isn't good to use on your pet dog and that aspirin will kill your cat and you start to realise what a waste of money ( and animal lives ) animal testing is. Force feeding a rabbit lipstick till it keels over and dies proves nothing. And on a silly note.. if you can't wear lemon, how about adopting one instead? At the below website you can adopt your very own lemon! Strange, but true... http://www.mysticalaura.com/lemon/index.html ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ Original Source products can be found at all the main supermarkets, Boots and many others.
