Advantages: Smells great!, Lasts a very long time, Helps rebuild nice healthy skin

Disadvantages: May seem expensive on initial purchase

I received a 15ml sample bottle of ?Night-a-mins? when I purchased another Origins product. One thing I think is great about the Origins range (there?s loads of things!) is that they give out really decent sizes in testers. I used this sample every night after receiving it and it lasted me almost 3 months, as you really only need a little bit every night. After that ran out I bought a full size jar and I can see this lasting a very long time.

TEXTURE

?Night-a-mins? is a fairly thick liquid, white in colour. It?s not as thick as some products, but it?s thick enough that you don?t need to use a lot each time. A small blob on your fingertip will cover your whole face.

Once it's on your face you can't really feel it, it doesn't feel like it's clogging up all your pores and preventing them from having access to the air!

SMELL

This lotion has a refreshing citrus aroma to it, which sneaks up your nostrils the moment you unscrew the lid. The main ingredients listed are: Valerian, Orange, Neroli and Vanilla. I only know what two of those are, but I would certainly say the orange is the most noticeable.

It?s not the kind of smell that will keep you awake once you?ve applied it, as I find it very relaxing and probably does the opposite, it sends you to sleep! Even my boyfriend has commented on the lovely smell (and that?s coming from a bloke eh!)

WHEN TO USE IT

Well, I think this is probably quite obvious! It claims that it will help ?to build strong skin while you sleep? and I truly believe that it does just that!

THE CONTAINER

I?m a real snob when it comes to containers and packagin
g. If it doesn?t look right then I won?t want to pick it up and use it every day will I?! I love this container, I just think Origins are really quirky in their packaging and the names they give to their products. This product ?Night-a-mins? has been cleverly packaged in a brown glass jar with a big green label on the front, much like a Vit-a-min bottle, get it? ;)

I just think it looks expensive, and I know that?s not all that matters, but I think it counts for something when you?ve paid all that money that the product looks the part and it REALLY does work.

RESULTS

The description on the bottle states:
?Breathe deeply as you apply a dab to clean skin, allowing the hypnotic aromas of nature?s nightcaps to post their ?do not disturb? signs on stress and tension?

I believe it does all this and more! It certainly helps to relax me as I love the zesty orangey smell. I don?t know how someone would react to this if they didn?t like oranges though. It?s not exactly a smell as strong as when you peel oranges, but it is certainly distinctive.

I don?t have massive problems with my skin, but on occasions it can be slightly dry, and oily in other places if I forget to apply various lotions and potions to it. I leave the bottle of ?Night-a-mins? next to the bed so that I don?t forget to put it on every night, and I have put it on every night since I got the sample through to buying the full size product recently and it seems to have kept my skin lovely and soft (along with other Origins products). I?m not sure if it?s directly linked but I?ve had less breakouts recently *touch wood*

FOR WHICH SKIN TYPES?

ANY! Although make a note that if you have
dry skin Origins recommend you buy the cream version, and if you have sensitive skin they recommend the lotion version. I have combination skin and they state that combination is suited to both the cream and the lotion, so it?s really up to you. I chose the lotion because I?d got on so well with the lotion sample I thought, why change?

PRICE AND AVAILABILI TY

£22.50 for 50ml. Ouch! (I hear your wallet cry) but trust me on this one?.I reckon this 50ml jar will last me over a year.

Origins is not sold in very many places. At present I can only get it from John Lewis in Bristol and the Origins shop in Bath. The store locator is here: http://www.origins.com/locate/index.html

See www.origins.com for further information on the full range of products (although unfortunately you can't purchase online unless you live in Canada or the US).

An excellent op. I would've thought that they'd make it in lavender as well cos that smell always sends me off to sleep!

Brilliant review and if the treatment works then the cost doesn't always matter. Sometimes we get what we pay for. Julia
