Advantages: Unperfumed, Uncoloured, Just kind!
Disadvantages: Bit pricey
Simple soap for sensitive skin should not be dismissed as being for only those whose shopping baskets are full of hypoallergenic products, whose skin breaks out in spots at the very sign of lanolin or for those whose skin is easily offended by sexist jokes. A frightening fact should be remembered that 80% of all gynaecological disorders are the result of using coloured and perfumed bath products. If you have ever suffered from thrush it is very likely that it was either caused or aggravated by that orange coloured, honey smelling, all singing and dancing soap or glitzy looking bath bomb which you thought was such a must for your toiletry regime. In fact, all that it was a must for was a vaginal infection. On the other hand, Simple soap is ?not perfumed, not coloured, just kind?. PACKAGING The packaging of the soap reflects the simple nature of the product itself. The wrapper is predominately white with some pale green script repeating the words ?for sensitive skin? all over the wrapper. This is either a clever marketing ploy or a subtle use of subliminal messaging. Your conscious mind sees soap; your subconscious sees sensitive soap! Had the publicists at Simple been a little more cunning and the faint green writing would read ?buy this soap?. THE SOAP Luckily for the marketing department, the soap is so good that it sells itself without resorting to underhand mind-altering techniques. The bar itself is a chunky shape, an off-white colour, with the word ?Simple? embossed on its face. Not tremendously awe-inspiring but what do you expect when they can use neither colours nor smells to titillate the user? The product lathers very easily, even in hard water areas! Although the product is not perfumed it smells clean and fresh (nice to know that the natural unadulterated smell of soap is clean rather than reminiscent of dog pooh). After use the skin feels soft and smooth a
nd, rather importantly, clean! SPOT A BARGAIN The soap is available individually; in which case one bar will set you back approximately 45p. However, the product is also available in packs of two bars, four bars and six bars. The more bars in a pack the cheaper it works out per unit. Those of you who are true bargain hunters should keep your eyes peeled for offers that are often to be found where an extra free couple of bars are added to the packaged product. I always hunt for such bargains and then buy in bulk, thus saving vast sums of money. Ladies and gentlemen, David Dickinson would be proud for surely that is cheap as chips!

- 01/05/03 Can you imagine if soap really did smell of doo poo? ;-) |

- 09/12/02 I've never used their soap as I quite like it smelly and I have never had an infection 'down there'. Sounds like it might have a subtle smell though, and with it lathering well, I might keep an eye out for the bargain sales. Cheers |

- 02/12/02 Soap is one thing I never use. I use liquid soaps like carex for my hands but I tend to keep clear if them on my face, another excellent op. I've added you to my CoF as you always read my ops and I can't believe I never had you on alerts or added you before, Steph |
