I have always loved the smell of anything chocolate like and remember the first time I spotted a bottle of palmers cocoa butter on my mums dressing table as a child, someone had bought her some back from America. I remember clearly the delight when I opened the lid and that wonderful smelled filled my nose and I have been hooked every since.

I was delighted when one day I noticed the palmers body gloss in boots and it was in my basket quicker than a cat up a tree and I was desperate to get home and cover my body and find my inner and outer J-Lo glow!.


====Palmer's =====

Palmer's as a skin care brand was actually developed in 1840 and was one of Americas first skin care brands but it was until it was distributed in Australia in 1997 that it became the cult beauty product that it is today.

The brand now as many different products including the original cocoa butter, Olive butter, Shea butter and Aloe vera but for the purposes of this review I am concentrating on the Body Gloss with Vitamin E.


==== Packaging ====

Palmer's cocoa butter products all have the similar look of a white bottle or tube and the famous orange and brown labeling but the Body Gloss comes in tube but it has an iridescent shimmer to it and to show the result that you will get when you use it.


==== The product ====

Palmer's body Gloss contains 100% pure Cocoa butter which is then enriched with Vitamin E to provide you with smooth and soft skin, its also worth noting that cocoa butter melts at room temperature and this allows the cream to sink into your skin.
The product has a flip lid and the cream dispenses out from a small hol so that you can not really squeeze too much out. You can use this product anywhere on your body and is claims to offer a deep radiant glow.


==== Scent ====

As the scent of Palmers is so well known I thought that it deserved a place of it's own!.
Well I love the smell but I know from experience that its a bit like marmite and you either love or hate it. the body gloss does have the familiar scent but it is not as strong and while each persons skin reacts differently to scents I personally find that the scent does not linger on.


==== Results ====

While I do like to use a moisturiser after a shower or bath as the skin absorbs it better I actually found that it was better to allow my skin to dry slightly before applying the product.

When the product comes out of the tube you can see the shimmer in it and the base colour is cream with the gold shimmer running through, when you actually put it in your palms and rub them together the really gold shimmer colour comes through and the cream vanishes.

I found that the product was easy to apply and the texture of the cream was quite thick. I did notice that if I applied it to wet skin the product turned white and was quite hard to rub in so I would recommend letting you skin dry slightly before applying.

It did feel nice on my skin and it certainly made my skin smooth and soft, as far as the shimmer goes I did find that in certain lights you could really see it but it was not an obvious glow and more of a subtle shimmer, it was not a deep glow which is what the product says that it gives. it did last all night long and didn't fade at all and its also worth noting that it didn't rub off on my clothes.


==== How to Use it ====

You can apply this all over the body however after using it I thought that it would be helpful for the purpose of this review if I described how I used the product myself.


==== Legs ====

While I do like to use a moisturiser after a shower or bath as the skin absorbs it better I actually found that it was better to allow my skin to dry slightly before applying the product

I tend to start from the bottom of my body and work my way up, I start by applying a ten pence piece size and this covers my legs from toes to the top of my thighs. apply the product on your palms and rub together and then using sweeping motions glide the cream from your feet all the way up to your thighs.

==== Torso ===

If you are only using as a shimmer you may just want to do your arms and the top half of your chest but as its a moisturiser and a shimmer I tend to put it all over and gain suing sweeping motions glide the cream all the way up to your arms.

==== Arms ====

Again using sweeping motions cover your arm and try to glide the cream and not rub to hard as this can make it disappear into your skin and leave you smooth but with no shimmer.

==== Face ====

While I know that this product is not made for your face I have used it on my face and they way I use it is to rub a tiny amount in with my normal face moisturiser and this gives just a healthy glow before applying your makeup.

==== Re Apply ====

This is what I do if I want a stronger shimmer or to highlight certain areas. after the first application I wait until it has slightly dried on my skin and them go over just certain areas and only use a small amount, I add a little more to my shoulders and also my decolletage and I find that this second application is what give it a better overall look.
Because you have applied it into your palms a few times you will have to wash them as my hands had more shimmer than a christmas tree!

==== My Conclusion ====

I think that it is a great body moisturiser and will give you that extra glow on a night out or even through the day, however if you really want a deeper colour or shimmer than I would suggest trying something else.
For the price I think that its a brilliant body moisturiser with a soft and subtle shimmer.


==== Cost and Availability ====

Palmer's many product can be purchased in many chemists, departments stores and some supermarkets and cost approx £ 4.00 for the 125g tube.

Summary: A lovely moisturiser with a shimmer
